Question about Televison & Video
I am asumming you are talking about you changed the convergence ic's. If so look at the solder connections made on the IC's , if any of them are bridged or making contact with another pin next to it then the television will see this a short circuit, and the set will not stay on.
Also if the plug your friend unplugged is going to the area of the ic's then check and recheck your solder connections.
