Try to inquire on sony support. If you can have the recovery cd, usually they will charge for shipping. Have it and your hand its better you have a good fall back to restore your lap on factory settings.

But for your virus infection. You have at least a chance to purge that out of your system since you can boot on safe mode.

You can try to use combo disinfection. Like ;

1. AVG
2. Ad-aware
3. Superantispyware
4. Malwarebytes antimalware
5. Easy cleaner
6. Avast
7. Combofix
8. Mcaffee Stinger

Use combofix on safe mode but this could also do some corruption on your system this is for the last resort if ever.

Try to look for antivirus that can run on safe mode on the list, and do some research how it works best.And also try to backup your important files and installation files first before running the antiviruses. And also run antivirus one at a time. Then try to record what virus hits you.

This maybe an overkill. The reason is you don't know what virus infects you then try this antivirus who can distinguish it and run on safemode. The reason I sharing this is it will just infect you easily again even you restore it to factory installation. " Prevention is better than cure".

If ever you disinfect the virus using this, then pick one antivirus that disinfect this infection and uninstall the other. I also recommend Malwarebytes antimalware on the system together with one antivirus.

I assume that you have already tried a "system restore"... while in the safe mode.
If you can get to a time before the really bad virus hit, you may be able to install a decent virus protection program

If you have another pc available go to www.cnet.com in the search area type malwarebytes the first on the list download and install to your computer.Since you can only use it in safemode install and run it there,do a full system scan,allow it to finish.Once it is finished remove the quaranted items highlight and delete.Reboot this should remove the the infected items.Now you will need to do this once you get back in windows.it will do a update and remove what it finds.Remember always to do a full system scan.
