My projector can't find my laptop. I have hit the fn/f4 key as well as rebooted the laptop. I have tried two projectors, but neither of them can find the new HP laptop. What else can I try?

Hello !

Since you have hit the Fn+F4 key (has an LCD photo or CRT/LCD on key) and have tried 2 projectors, the only conclusion is that there may be a problem with your laptop's VGA port or the projectors' VGA cable.

See if you can connect another device (monitor) to the laptop's VGA port successfully.

Hope this helps.

Plug your projector into your computer using your usb cord. if that doesnt do it then use the projector driver. if you dont have a copy of the driver google the name of the projector with the word driver after it.

Hi

Sure can be fixed.

1st of all you need to connect the projector with your laptop turned off. One the laptop has finished booting and loading windows. Hit the Fn+f4 or f7 key to switch between the displays then you will get the display.

But if this also does not give display then you can check with the projector with Video INPUTS (Eg. Input 1 / Input 2 etc.,)

Disconnect the cable that is connecting the laptop to the projector. Sometimes this will happen if the projector or device you're connecting your laptop to does not support the current resolution that the laptop is displaying. Reconnect the cable and try using Function F4. If that does not work then disconnect the cable from laptop to projector, reboot the laptop then repeat connecting it to the projector and pressing Function F4.

Tried projector no work

Connect your projector to your laptop using a VGA cable. Now turn ON your projector and your laptop.

To make your screen projected, look at your function keys (F1 to F12). Look for the icon which looks like a laptop LCD and a TV. It should appear like LCD icon/TV icon. In some model it is in F4 while F3 in Lenovo. Example, you found the icon in F4, just press and hold down the FN key and press F4 to send your desktop image to the projector. This combination is called the "dual monitor" setup which in your case, the second monitor is a digital projector.

Which function buttons do you push to switch the image form the laptop to the projector?

If you connect the projector to the laptop and power up the projector first and then the laptop, the video data will automatically divert to the video port/projector .
On most Presario press the Fn key and the F4 key The function key will have a screen symbol printed on the key.

I can't get my laptop to appear on the Hitachi CPRS55 projector

Hello.

Look at your laptop keys and be certain that Fn + F8 is the right combination. Could be Fn + F4, depending on your laptop.

If the key combination is OK, your VGA cable (from the projector to the laptop) could be faulty.

Hope this helps.

Is there an alternative to the

You can try powering off the laptop, connect the projector, power on the projector, then power on the laptop. Sometimes it can boot directly to the screen of the projector if detected at startup.

Another option could be to attach a USB keyboard to your laptop and use that to press the Fn + F4 keys.

I can't get the display from my laptop to project to a screen.

If you connect the data projector to your laptop and power it up first then your laptop, the video will switch to the data projector automatically.
If you had powered up the laptop first then you can divert the video information to the external video port/data projector by holding the Fn key and then press F4 key.
You can toggle between the LCD screen, the data projector or both LCD and data project together using the Fn & F4 keys.

Video projector from a laptop

You can connect the Projector to the VGA Port of the Notebook which is a Blue Port which can be seen at the rear of any desktop computer to which we usually connect the Monitor to.

The VGA Port will have 15 holes on it and should be in Blue colour.

You can locate the VGA Port at the Left side of the Notebook.

Locate the port according to the information available below :

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00726464.pdf

Refer to page number 14 (18 of 32) in the manual.

Once you connect the Projector to this port, hold the FN key and press F4 key once.

This wil get the Display on the Projector connected to the Notebook.

If you just want the display only on the Projector, hold the FN key and press the F4 again.

Now, if you want the display back on the LCD of the Notebook, Press the FN + F4 third time.

Hope this helps..

Device Name

Laptops with a VGA output on the back shouldn?t need any type of ?device? for the projector to work. If its displaying an image with odd colors I would suspect a problem with the projector or the cable that connects them. The easiest way to determine if it?s the projector/cable or the laptop is try connecting it to another PC or laptop.
