From the bottom there should be a couple of screws to hold the base on. If they are not there then you need to remove the concealment panel at the base where the stand goes in. Once that is off you will see 3 or 4 screws holding it on.
The power supply is down . Sylvania power is very simple went you take the back off you should see the two bad capsitators on the board.Just replace them with same value .
Hello; I am John at J. D. Electronics, Poland Maine. This problem is usually caused by defective inverter transformers. These sets are made by Funai Corp. I have now replaced 100's of these. They are about $5 each and most sets have 5 to 8 of them. Replace them ALL at once. There are many other problems I have found that require replacing whole PCB's , so this is only a guess. John
Power board is dead,must replaced parts like capacitors puff up or burst open.Or replaced the whole power board.The websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com have reburbish power board part.
To remove the base stand, place the TV face down on a smooth surface. Place a cloth underneath it to protect the screen. Remove the 4 phillipscrews from the stand. The stand can now be removed. The set can with a cover plate you can use to cover the opening.

if its remote control try pressing no 1 and see if it comes on.alternatively the on and off switch if faulty on th tv,but the remote control should still switch it on.also switch off the tv for 24 hours by completely removing it from the mains and see if that resets it.
