Convergence Issues... (again)

Well - just about a year has gone by since replacing the ICs and the convergence has went out again on this tv. I never replaced the pico fuses because they weren't broken or discolored but wondering if that's why these latest ICs lasted only a year? Also, the pico fuses I received were a different color band then the one's installed so I was hesitant in replacing them anyways... HELP!

- Update - Heat Sink compound was applied and I tried the manual convergence adjustment via remote and also tried realigning the "crosses" via remote without success. Hard to believe these ICs would fail after one year?

There are two common problems with these sets.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:
  • Screen Looks 3D
  • Colors wont align
  • Video may look distorted
Problem #2 CRT Fluid has clouded over. Symtoms
  • Dull looking video
  • White looking video
  • Halos around objects
  • Red/Orange looking video

well there are good japan ic,s and the chines made ics that are being duped into the country and sold at the same profits
i recomend ordering the original sony pt STK392-570
and as to the color of the pico fuses there are replacments from other manufactures

we use only origianl ics and have very little trouble from them
