Slow to load programs or switch between programs

Slow to load programs from desktop or switch between programs on desktop. also slow to log on to user profile

Seems to me you have defective hard drive. First of all try to backup everything you will miss in case of "hard drive death".

May be you have a spyware or some viruses. It does not matter if you have an antivirus program. Believe me ! this is crazy.
I'd suggest http://www.MalwareBytes.org : doiwnload free version update and go with quick scan. Than defragment the partition. If nothing changed, get some new hard drive and play with it. :)

How can i log in my Delloptiplex 760 computer,when its auto logging off


If running XP

A log-on loop on your Windows XP computer is a difficult situation where the computer never completes its boot cycle, restarting intermittently ad nauseam.


This issue indicates a major problem with the boot functionality of your XP system.

Restore the computer to working order by utilizing the repair and restoration utility on your XP system disk.

Insert the XP disk into the computer.


Restart the computer.

Press any key when prompted to boot from the disk.

Press "Enter" at the first screen and "F8" at the license terms.


Highlight the drive containing XP and press "R," repairing the operating system boot files and removing the log-on loop.

or

Windows XP sometimes has a glitch when you are logging in to your user account in order to boot the operating system.

The glitch logs you in and then logs you off the account.


This problem is usually caused by one of the programs that load during the computer's start-up.

Fixing this issue is a matter of ensuring that whatever program is causing the problem doesn't start up as soon as you start your computer.

or


Power on the computer and allow it to get to the user logon page normally.

There is no need to start up the computer in "safe mode."


Click the user who is having the issue and type in the user's password if one is set up.

Press and hold the "shift" button on your computer keyboard as soon as you see the tool bar load up at the bottom of the screen but before any other program has a chance to do so.


This stops any "Startup" program from running and logging you off.

Select all the files inside the "Startup" folder by dragging a box over them.


Right-click anywhere on the selected files.


Select "Delete" to delete those files.


Note that deleting the programs from the "Startup" folder does not delete them from your computer.


All this does is make it so that these programs no longer start as your computer is starting so that any error in the running of the programs doesn't interfere with logging in to your account.

When i turn the computer on it will load up to the screen to select the user, when i select the user, it will start to load, then it will say logging off, and put me back into the user selection screen. I...


sounds like you have a malware infection.Reboot into safe mode by pressing f8 at the first screen you see when pc boots.Select safemode with networking thenn once you get your desktop back go to : http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

As i switch on the computer it loads and takes me to the user selecting screen and once when i click on any one of the user it gets high lighted and gets logged out automatically and comes back to the user...


as the computer is loading press F* repeatedly until you reach a black sceen with options you need to highlight option safe mode, once on the safe mode logon screen choose administrator, this logs you to the main user, this is where you can change user acounts who log onto the mechine, goto control panel and left click on user acounts, in here remove all acount passwords and click on change the way user log on or off and uncheck each section and reboot the mechine, hopefully you will have a diferent log on screen just log in with your user name and password and you should avoid the rebooting. hope this helps and post back if it is still the same.

Having freeze up and very slow loading of programs


I have EXACT same computer. Are you running WIN 7? It works great! Have you cleared out the temp folder? users/(your name)/appdata/local/temp. Empty as much as you can in this folder. Its only a temp folder. How about clearing the browser cache? Have you run disk defragmenter? Theres alot you can do. Clean out the cookies. INSTALL more MEMORY. I have 4GB RAM in mine. Open the box and Clean it with pressurized air. BLOW out that dust! It holds in the heat, which defeats the heat sinks sole purpose! Hope this helps.

Kicks off dial-up after 5 minutes-dial-up shows still connected compaq presario sr111onx


This is normal. All users of dial up get kicked off randomly to make room on the service providers servers for other users to log on. In addition to it's extremely slow speed, this is the downside to dial up. I would suggest switching to DSL or Cable. It's a constant 'On' connection you cannot get kicked off of.

I am trying to download a game it said i must be loged in as an administrator when installing this program so what do i do and how do i do it my email is zoye125227@hotmail.com thank you


You must have administrator rights to be able to install any program or game on your computer. It may mean that the user account that you are using is either a guest acocunt or an account with limited access.

Try these steps to change your log in

1) go to the control panel
2) Select User Accounts/User Account
3) Log in as the administrator and enter the password to switch accounts

Or you can log off from your current user and relog in using the admin account. If you do not know the password, it is better to inform the admin that you have to install a game so he/she will do it for you.
