There should be a reset button inside the t-stat, press this button and let it reset and then reprogram.

All I need to know is this: The Chronontherm III died (my house is 20 years old and I believe it was original to the house) and I need a new thermostat. Can I replace the Honeywell Chronotherm III...

Yes, you can replace with that...just make sure that you mark the wires BEFORE removing you can place them on the same terminals on the new t-stat...

Here is a list of each common terminal and what their commonly used for. Also listed is what colors are commonly used. NEVER ASSUME these are what you have. Verify all your wires by following each to each piece of equipment. This will help you to be able to match your equipment with the terminal.

Here is the rest of the tip that I wrote...

We have a Honeywell T8132A1049 thermostat/ cooler- we can't find a manual for it. It also says Bat Low on the screen but I have replaced the batteries with brand new ones and tried resetting it .....

Here is a link where you can download the user manual. It says to remove the batteries, wait 1 hr, then install fresh batteries. When the page for diplodocs opens click on security number and enter the code it shows to download the manual.

My honeywell chronotherm III says -AC any ideas

The problem is your 24v power source. I am unsure as to why you put "other than power source or batteries". If you did indeed check that your thermostat is receiving 24v, then I would say that you have a bad thermostat. Hope this helps

I have a honeywell control unit that has a corrosion problem in the aa battery compartment, When I change the batteries every 12 months I notice it is getting worse. I put a new set of batteries in and the...

Your problem is bad connections due to corrosion. If you would do something to correct that you wouldn't need to replace anything. Batteries ooze acid when they go bad, to counteract that you need to apply a paste of baking soda with water on a used toothbush and scrub all the funky stuff away. Paper towels are good to wipe it off with until it's dry. Take a small file or a small piece of sandpaper and dress or shine up the metal parts that contact the batteries and then spray the parts with contact cleaner from Radio Shack. Your batteries need to be changed BEFORE they purge their innards all over your good work next time - don't let it happen again.

For exact parts replacement you might find some honeywell numbers that may actually make a hit on Google. Even the most bizzare combo of Alpha and numeric gibberish in quotes will sometimes yeild pure Google gold. Other than dealing with a honeywell employee, I have no other suggestions on hunting down your part.
