Hi, Did you try to recharge it again? If those was done and got the same error a possible problem on the battery, a damged on the cell battery that make the pack not to hold any charge into it... Did you try to use another battery pack?

I assume you've tried removing and re-seating the batteries in the remote. If this doesn't reset the remote the fall most likely broke a component or solder point on the circuit board. If all else fails you can try opening the remote and making sure no wires are broken. Look closely around the battery contact points. Often when a remote is dropped the weight of the battery can cause damage to that area.

Battery door metall batterry connectors fell out

When you can't close the battery door as it should be closed, you can't turn on the camera. In almost all digital cameras there is a protection switch, that prevents the camera to work, with an open battery door, because the camera could stop any moment when the battery comes loose. When the camera was accessing the memory, when it falls without power, the memory can be damaged and you could loose all the pictures saved on the memory card.
I'm afraid, when the battery door came out, some things are missing, like a spring, axel and perhaps some other little metal or plastic things. To come out, some mechanical damage must be there, so it won't be easy to reinstall the door yourself.
Bet thing you can do is show it in a service centre and ask if it can be repaired and what it will cost.
Service manuals, with pictures about all parts, are only sold to approved repair centres.
The only chance to find anything, is on ifixit dot com, because they have manuals and videos of lots of electronic stuff for free.
Repair over there is on your own risk.

No. The warranty does not cover damage caused by dropping it. Maybe you have an insurrance that covers it?

You don't need to open the camera to change the film. The battery door is on the other end. You open the door by inserting the protrusion on the plastic end piece of the strap into the slot of the battery door. It takes a small 3 volt battery.

Nikon COOLPIX 3100 Digital Camera

I WOULD SUSPECT THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG ON THIS NEW DOOR THAT THE BATTERIES ARE NOT MAKING GOOD CONTACT WITH THE DOOR AND THEREFORE NOT SUPPLYING POWER TO THE CAMERA. IF IT WORKED BEFORE THE DOOR WAS REPLACED, THERE MUST BE SOMETHING AT THAT POINT. I WOULD LOOK THERE FOR PROPER PRESSURE ON THE BATTERY OR BATTERIES.

Broken battery compartment door switch

The switch is a micro switch that is depressed(and not sad :)) by a plastic tag moulded on the battery cover. Once the cover is moved into position and closed, the tag presses on the micro switch closing the switch and thus removing the error message. As with any switch, a switch is simply open or closed, Open = high resistance or O/L, while closed = 0 ohms reistance. You can use a small wire to overcome the switch by soldering the wire to both tags of the switch so it is permenantly 0 ohms. This will send a message to the microprocessor that cover is closed and camera ready for use. Hope this helps.

Battery door error

The switch is soldered to the circuit board. The tab portion of it is what you found after opening the battery door. I believe you would have to buy the entire circuit board to make that repair. Most camera manufacturers sell assemblies rather than small components. It would be possible to take one from another camera of the same type and transfer the switch. It is fairly delicate work.

Lost battery door

Surely you can use a little duct tape or something else to secure the battery in place. You might want to contact the manufacturer to see if they have the part or you can check on ebay under the camera model to see if some parts are also listed. Happens on many occasions..
