you should have your unit check professionally, as it can be cause by multiple problem.

1. laptop fan
2. memory problem
3. voltage problem.

either way, its best that you try to have it check thru the toshiba service center.

change the fan or install a software that will check your hardware.like toshiba pc health. i think toshiba already have it, if your laptop is Purchase from a Toshiba authorized vendor

Ebay is a good source to get parts for Toshiba satellite. Look at Toshiba satellite for parts. Ton of them on regular basic.

Please try to turn Off your unit and take off the battery after 5-10mins re install your battery and open your laptop.

I would suggest you take the laptop apart and inspect the fan, if its covered in dust, it might be unable to rotate.

yes this is a fairly easy repair and can be done at home. You will need to find a replacement fan for it though, look at the numbers from the old fan.
