if the machine has been sitting for awhile and you oiled it that will help, it could be the belt is too loose or the motor is going out or the foot pedal needs to be checked to see if something is wrong with it. it would be a good idea to have the machine checked at a sewing machine shop.
No this machine does not use a bobbin. I just purchased one too and called the supplier to help me keep mine threaded. He said they do not take much tension at all. So check your tension and then when threading it, make sure your thread goes under the bar in the center of the tension disk, not on top of.
