When I hve a link that I click on that came in through an e-mail, it will not open in explorer 8....it just spins and spins and never opens.

  • deborahlee52 Oct 08, 2009

I am using Outlook Office 2007. When Ihover over the link it actually states, "click to follow the link." I have resorted to copying and pasting it in th address bar of Explorer 8 just as you stated. BUt I know there is an easier way as I have done it by just clicking on the link and Explorer (7) opens the address quickly on my other computer.

At the top of the email you will see that the link is disabled because of your settings... change your settings, or copy the link and just paste into the address bar of IE.

Changing the settings of your email system depends on your email system - as I do not know what software or service you are using I can not help with that part of the equation.

Yahoo email will not open after I did file recovery on computer.

It is a good idea to let Windows Update fetch all the patches and security fixes for your system, as many are specifically for Internet Explorer.

After you are sure your system is up to date, open your Internet Explorer browser:

1) Click "Tools" > Select "Internet Options"

2) Click the "Security" Tab

3) Highlight "Internet" as the zone to change

4) Click "Custom level..."

5) Scroll down the options:

Under "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" select "Enable"

Under "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting" select "Enable"

6) Click <OK> to close this window, then <OK> again to close the Internet Options dialog box.

7) Close your Internet Explorer browser

8) Reboot your computer

Try your Yahoo! Mail again. I hope this helps!

Cannot open links in outlook express does not open IE if i click on any links in emails

First go to "programs and features" uninstall Google Chrome.

Go to "Set Default Programs" (Control Panel>Default Programs>Set Default Programs)

Select Internet Explorer and click Set this program as default

Select Microsoft Office Outlook and click Set this program as default

Run Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and browse to location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Ext and change the value data of all DWORD entries from 1 to 0.

Launch Internet Explorer first; launch your Mail client (hopefully Microsoft Officer Outlook).

Check if all is well and you are now able to open links from within your Mail client.
