I need to reset the bios password on an hp nx9110 notebook - it is an office notebook and noone knows the password!

When you pull the battery it will set your cmos back to factory
defaults.

Do one thing first, Your CMOS holds a lot of important information so before you go messing around with the batteryWRITE DOWN YOUR SETTINGS.

There are a few different ways to reset the cmos, here's a few:

1. there are many default common passwords,
such as:

At boot-up note the BIOS provider (Award, AMI, Phoenix, IBM, etc.)

For Award BIOS' try these backdoor passwords:

AWARD_SW
j262
HLT
SER
SKY_FOX
BIOSTAR
ALFAROME
Lkwpeter
j256
AWARD?SW
LKWPETER
syxz
ALLy
589589
589721
awkward
CONCAT
d8on
CONDO
j64
szyx

For AMI BIOS' try these backdoor passwords:

AMI
BIOS
PASSWORD
HEWITT RAND
AMI?SW
AMI_SW
LKWPETER
A.M.I.
CONDO

For PHOENIX BIOS' try this backdoor password:

phoenix

HP compaq nx9110 BIOS battery/hd not detected

Hi there , if the main battery is removed the cmos battery will go flat , if its a small pcb mounted 1 you can short the contacts for a short time , if the cdrom is working it mains the 5volt supply is ok and you should be able to hear the hard drive spin up unless there is damage to the pins on the hdd or the adaptor or hdd is mounted wrong .

Cmos password reset

You can get around this however it's not to easy. You would have to take the unit apart and locate the BIOS chip, this chip needs to pulled out, aswell as removing the CR2032 battery which stores time and date on the computer. Leave both of these removed for a few minutes and re-install. This should wipe the password out. Like I said though it's not something that's easily done. Good Luck Hope this helps. L8R

Lost bios password

if you are refering to bios password then you have to locate the cmos battery and remove for 5 minutes or so,or clear cmos memory terminal on the motherboard by shorting it, but location of these is tricky, normally around the hard drive bay.
