I am working on a 6.5hp tekumsi [how ever you spell it] motor on a craftsman front wheel drive mower. There is a diaphram that the vaccuum line from the carburater that hooks into this diafram hooks into, and the diafram is leaking oil. What is this diaphram called and how do you change it?

I have a Craftsman front wheel self propelled mower. The front wheels no longer turn either in self-propel or in manual push mode. What can be done to fix this?

Take a good look at the wheel assembly. Is it rusted on from being left exposed to the elements? Remove the cover for the self propelled mechanism. Is the drive belt intact? Try turning the small pulley.

675 series self-propelled - Front right wheel bearing assembly separated, wheel wobbles

I would take it back to the store and ask for warranty repairs since it is so new. That's ridiculous. If that doesn't work, try Sears Parts on-line or on the phone. They are better than most other manufactures.

I have a Craftsman, front wheel drive mower. I have replaced the front (drive) wheels every 6 months for the last two years. The plastic gears on the wheels just get chewed up. What is the problem?

Must be a bad mower that got thru the assembly line somehow. I have owned a front wheel drive Craftsman mower for 7 yrs and have never had one single problem with anything on it.

2004 f150 shift into 4wheel drive , light comes on but dosent go into gear, any suggestions???

the front axle locks in at the front wheels by vacuum there is two solenoids on the passenger fire wall that control the four wheel drive be sure those solenoids work there is an updated solenoid also check vacuum lines down to each front wheel area if there is good vacuum down to both front wheels the it is probably the diaphrams in the front wheel area.

Craftsman model 917377411 front propelled drive not engaging

On your model I beleive these wheels are driven with small gears inside the inside diameter of the wheels. If the shaft is turning, then you probably have a gear problem. Remove a wheel and inspect both the wheel, and the small gear. They are prone to wear.I'd suggest replacing all four parts if worn.

My 89 chevy s-10 pickup 4 wheel drive doesnt work. the transfer case goes into gear but the front hubs seem like they dont lock in i was told it was a fuse or a vaccuum line but i have never heard of...

On the 1989 s10 it has a vacuum actuator that actually locks the front differential in ,you need to check that first, those go bad real often, and without it. There's no way it will lock in the axle, the transfer case will lock in ,but the front differential uses a actuator. It 's located under the battery tray and there is a cable towards the front of the differential. Id say the actuator cable has gone out, most parts stores can get you one ,that what goes wrong with those 99% of the time and it only takes about 5 minutes to change it out. Good luck but check the vacuum line to the actuator under the battery tray.

How do you remove the driven wheels on a craftsman self propelled mower

On mine (front-wheel drive, about 8 years old) you first remove the plastic hubcap from the front wheel - then there's a big nut holding the wheel on. The hubcap just pops right off. I used a skinny, regular screwdriver to do it.

95 tahoe four wheel drive stopped working/shift light not working

I have a 1996 tahoe that did the same thing to me.

There is no vacuum lines, it is all electric. The motor on the front differental is controled by the actuator switch on the top of the trans case. The motor is controled by 3 wires. 1 is a ground and the other 2 are signal wires. When the truck is in 2wd, the motor will get 12volts to ground on 1 wire all the time to turn the motor out. When you put it in 4wd, the motor will get 12 volts to ground on both signal wire to turn the motor in.

Here is the point!! Check to make sure that none of those wires from the t-case switch to the motor are shorting out on something metal. In my case those wires came out of the wire loom(black tube) and rubed the insulation off. shorting on the t-case.

If your truck ever gets stuck in 4wd, were you have to keep it in 4wd or the front end makes a hell of a noise, the actuator switch on the t-case is none to go out. cheap fix. If that ever happens and you are in a pinch. Unscrew the motor out of the front end and manualy give the motor the signals that it needs with jumper wires and the trucks battery to turn the motor out, screw the motor back in. Don't put the wires back on till you can fix it right.
