What do you recommend as a cleaner for the pick-up rollers? We have been using it for about 6 months and the pick-up of pages is getting touchy.

If you can remove the rollers, then soap and warm water. If you can't remove them, then use a damp cloth. There is a rubber roller cleaner that printer techs use but I don't know how easy it would be to find. Do NOT use any alcohol based cleaners. They'll clean your roller but they'll also shorten the lifespan of the rubber a great deal.

Make sure the pick up roller is free of paper dust. You can get cleaner paper at an office supply store. It is sticky on both sides and will remove paper dust from the surface of the pick up roller.

Head cleaner

That rather depends on how well used the machine is. It also depends if you use tapes with known problems or old ones. The best way to judge it is when you start to see sparkles on the pictures. That's a sign to clean. If the machine is not used a lot I would say every 3 months. VCR's kept in a room where people smoke should be cleaned however at least once a month. Some VCR's have a small roller that cleans the head. However that can become grubby, so that needs cleaning or replacing after a while.
Don't forget the mechanism tape pathway can pick up dirt. That should really be cleaned every 6 months at least.

Hello Jenny,

1.Pad Assy 2. Ultrasonic sensor 3. Idler roller 4. Pick roller 5. feed roller 6. Eject roller and 7. Glass surface

If the above doesn't help, then check the Pad Assy & Pick Roller count. If the counts exceeds the suggested replacement cycles, then you you may have to replace the same. Pls refer to page-99 of the getting started guide supplied with your scanner.

Hope the above information is helpful.

Paper Jam when trying to send a fax on 4th page

Paper Pick up Rollers get dirty or worn out with the passage of time. Hence, require cleaning or replacement if worn out. In case you find them dirty use a soft, dry, lint free cloth to clean the rollers. Don't use chemicals as they may damage the rubber and plastic. However, if needed, you can use damp cloth or some cleaning liquid such as mild detergent or glass cleaner to damp the cloth.
Lift the top Cover, Locate the roller and clean them. Depending upon the make & model of the fax you have, lift the top cover accordingly and locate the paper pickup roller.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

What can i do if my hp laserjet 4050n automatic paper tray could not pick paper?

Hi:
Often the paper pick up roller gets paper dust on it, and it gets slippery.
Only clean it with a relatively lint free, cotton cloth, dampened with plain water. Any other cleaners can dry out the rubber, and shorten the life on the roller.

It seems that recycled paper is more prone to cause this problem, and it is an easy fix for my HP

Hoover Windtunnel spits dirt back out the back

Your problem sounds to be an obstruction in the foot (lower body) of the windrummel. Most all windtunnel's have a second cavity for suction to go over the top of the roller. When you remove the bottom plate, next remobe the belt and roller, under the roller will be a removable cavity, take it out. remove the dirt and clean out any debris. also check the suction path connecting hose. if your belt has not been changed in the last 12 months, I would recommend changing that as well.

Vacuum's brush does not spin on (low) carpet unless switched to "high" but then roller does not pick up hair on carpet. Belts are in good condition. Maybe belts are loose?
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Your problem is that you may need to change the belt every 4 to 6 months as a recommended belt change on the vacuum and also keep an eye on the brushes or brush strips; they also help in the vacuum working properly. Here is a typical belt change on a Hoover. Normally there are screws, clips or levers that would remove the bottom plate or if that does not work then the top cover will come off and that will expose the belt. Once that is off and the belt is exposed then cut off the old belt and then lift up the brushroll on the pulley end and install the new belt around the pulley end and re-install the brushroll. Then use a belt puller or a screwdriver with a bent right or left end to stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line and reverse you steps in the reinstall of the top cover or bottom plate. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Canon 6025

okay, for starters, it sounds like your machine has been properly service in along time. typically on this machine every 6-12 months. anyway turn off and unplug the machine. it will need the optics cleaned for starters( you must remove the guide plates and then remove the glass and be very careful but slide the scanner out and clean the 3 mirrors with glass cleaner and a very soft cloth. then reassemble. slide out the transfer unit and inspect but do not touch the drum, the machine should have come with a corona wire cleaner, clean them, very careful not to break them. reinstall. the cleaning web you are refering to is okay for one roller to be dirty but there are two, one that is new felt and the other is where the used or dirty felt is. then there are the orange and black rollers which should stay clean without any real marks if your cleaning web is working properly. then as far as all the rollers except the drum(never touch, ever.) you can use rubbing alcohol moistened cloth to wipe and turn, wipe and turn. your paper pick up tires are propably very dirty causing your machine to misfeed. so clean them all. they are right over where the paper drawer sits. Good Luck, Don't break anything. if you very careful you will be able to fix this machine.

Thank You,

Mikey
