Question about Goodman Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a goodman pgb030075-1a air conditioner/heater. Both the compressor and heater will start to work but the fan does not. When I manually close the solenoid the fan starts. Is the control board bad?

Is the jumper for the compressor fan or for the main blower or both? Neither start on their own and only the compressor fan starts when I close the contactor.
Today I found that the main blower fan is very hot. The thermistor mounted to it is ok and the capacitor appears to be alright. Shorted blower windings?

    Thanks for your help.

Put a jumper wire across the red and green low voltage wire and see if the fan starts the control board is bad.

UNIT IS NOT FUNCTIONING.

See if you can hear the compressor start, if that does not start and your fan hums, it is most likely your dual capacitor. If compressor starts and fan hums, it is most likely your fan.

Goodman A/C won't cool

Fan motor or capacitor has gone out. Running the unit with the motor not running can cause damage to your compressor

The fan on my outside heat pump is running slow and the compressor attempts to start but quickly stops and trips the braker.i was told that could be the capacitor. could it be?

depending on the outside temp compressor may have a hard time starting in cooler weather. I would us a hard star capacitior connected to your existing capacitior and this should take care of the hard starting problem.

My Goodman a/c unit will not turn on ..

You have a short circuit in the outside system. Either a bad compressor, bad fan motor or possibly a bad capacitor. Visually examine the capacitor. If it is bulged out anywhere, replace it. Check for burned wires on the capacitor and all other connections.
Remove the compressors wires from the circuit and restart the unit. If the fan runs the problem is in the compressor. If the fan does not run,the problem is with the fan motor.
