need help need help with WAP54g access point with WAP54g access point I recently had to help try to fix a small office network. Currently it has a netgear ds116 hub with a wap54g connected to the hub for wireless in the office. The wireless is not encryted. No one in the office knew the passwords and the person who set it up is gone. So i did a hard resest to restore the factory defalts. When I tried to login using 192.168.1.1 , I found that the person who set it up must have installed other firmware because I was greeted with a SONICWALL login screen and not the linksys login. I have used all the default admin/password configurations to try to get in with out success.
I brought in and old WRT54gs i had lying around at home and just tried to swap in to replace the access point, but I couldn't get any data from the internet to come thru.
If some could please help me instruct me on how try to fix the wap54g access point, or give me some instructions on how to configure the WRT54gs so that it will work properly it would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance for your help
Hey ! you said that you that you reset the WAP54G , the default IP address address of WAP is 192.168.1.245. The IP address that you tried ( 192.168.1.1 ) must be the IP addres of the sonic firewall which might be acting as a DHCP server. To access the WAP54G set up. you will need to connect the computer to the HUB and the WPA to the hub with the cable and then try to access WPA with the IP address 192.168.1.245

Have a WRK-54G Linksys wireless router. Have a trendnet TEW-421PC trendnet card. Have winxp with sp2 installed. Cannot connect WPA-PSK. When looking at connection properties, it shows encryption is WEP or disabled to choose from. Have another laptop with Vista that works just fine with Linksys WRK-54G WPA-PSK and communicates very well. Thanks

wireless connection ... We got new computers and are trying to re-connect to the network through the linksys. it has connection with the terminal, but not the internet. We have two computers that need to connect wirelessly. There are 2 others that are hardwired. I can get the linksys to set up a connection to the terminal and has great signal, but won't connect to the internet...OR to the other computer that has the shared files on it. The other computer says it sees the connection but says it has no signal.

When I had my old DSL connected to a NetGear router, I was able to print wirelessly via a Linksys Wireless - G print server. Model #WPS54G. I converted to AT&T's Uverse today and now I can't get it to work. Yes I have attempted to reconfig it (several different times), using both DHCP and also a static IP. But it still fails to connect wirelessly...
