Take off the back of the motor, put a wrench on the shaft and turn the impeller by hand to loosen. It may be reverse threaded.

It sound like that's the 2.5" x 2" wet end.
Spa Parts Shop can help you, they also ship internationally.
You didn't mention a Horse Power. The motors HP is likely wrong listed so provide them with the amperage of your motor as well.

Looking for the propella that goes in side.

Your old impeller should have a number on one side that starts with 3. It will read something like 3##-####. You can google that number for a number of online sources or if you would like a quote please email me using the contact feature found on our website at

How do i remove pump from motor to repair or replace

Thank you for posting your question here on

Remove the front cover on the pump and the shaft cover on the opposite end (back of the motor). Once the covers are off you can lock the motor shaft at one end using a screwdriver or wrench and then turn off the impeller counter-clockwise. Once the impeller is off you can remove the rest of the pump by loosening the 4 thru-bolts in the motor.

Hi , my executive 48 pump is leaking water at the shaft ...... is this some sort of bearing or seal problem ? thanks in advance for any help , andy dic

The pump seal is the problem and it can lead to bearing damage if not caught soon enough. The seal used in the waterway pump is not as easy as most seals to replace. You are better off to have it done at a pump repair shop or pool store than to tackle it yourself unless you are familiar with this seal and have the tools to fix it. A repair bill would likely be under $75 for a seal replacement at a shop and they can replace the bearings if necessary.

Can<t remove impeller for my waterway 56 pump

This can be very tricky at times. Quite often a sharp blow from a hammer on the wrench will work. Sometimes an impact wrench will work too. If that fails, then remove the fan cover from and try holding the motor shaft with channel locks, or vice grips. If it has a fan, you might have to remove it.

When removing the impeller, how do you hold the shaft still?

Im guessing ...

On the motors I maintain, I remove the back cover. There is a start cap (usually black) on the left side held in place with a clamp. Use a phillips to loosen the clamp. DONT TOUCH ANYTHING that looks like a terminal, and be careful of the centrifical switch on the end of the shaft. Move the cap out of the way. The shaft has two flats that just happen to be 1/2 inch, Put an end wrench on the flats and you j
will have no trouble removing the impeller.

I hope this helps you

How do i remove impellor

The impeller in my 4 HP, 2-speed Waterway Executive High Performance 56 pool & spa pump has a brass coupling embedded in the back side. This coupling can be unscrewed from the motor shaft by keeping the shaft from rotating while turning the impeller in the reverse direction. Then the seal can be tapped out.

Execetive 56 4hp pump

Looking at the face of the pump, the impeller unscrews by turning it counterclockwise. Also, for some strange reason, the 4HP pump gets a 3HP impeller; the rating is embossed, in very small letters, near the center of the impeller. The 3HP impeller part number is: 310-4200.
Be sure to change the seal: US Seal P/n: PS-1000.
