Question about HP Photosmart C5180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have worked on many HP inkjet printers. This is not a good sign. The problem could be a defective logic board, bad cable or connection between the logic board and the print head housing, or the print head housing itself. It is unlikely that the problem can be resolved if you already tried the steps on HP's website. If you can find another C5180 with a good logic board, you can try changing the logic board out. It is a pain in the behind to get to the logic board, and there are many wires connected to it. If the printer is not under warranty, it maybe time to retire that printer.
I am sorry for not able to give you a magic fix, but there is no magic fix with this one.
