I put in a compilation CD that I had just burned. The player had trouble reading the last two tracks and it simply stopped working. When I tried to removed the CD the disc changer kept spinning around adn wouldn't stop. Then when I got the CD out, the tray door closed and the disc changer kept going...and going.....and going. So I hit the power button to 'reboot' the thing. Only when I turned it on again the tray seemed to get stuck and wouldn't open, then an Error message popped up on the display.

I had this happen to me as ell. you've probably got a cd stuck under the revolving tray. I took the top cover off and then opened the drawer and removed the offending disk. If you're not technically minded it's probably better to take it in to a repair shop. Mike

If a disc has been put in the slot of the disc in play, Remove the disc, whose number is displayed, and press stop button.
Because of light or noise, the changer has detected a disc in the lot of the disc being played, even though it is empty. Check whether there is a disc in the displayed slot. With front panel closed, hold down "STOP " button for atl least four seconds or more.

Disc Error when I try to play a dvd LG DP781

Sounds like either a dirty or weak laser/lens. Pls try cleaning with a CD disc cleaner or manually using cotton buds (if the eye is accessible).

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi there, have a Samsung DVDV6800 purchased in July that wont play all region discs. Can you tell me how to put in the codes for multi zones?

1. Power on your player with no disc in the tray. Wait for message "No Disc" in the top left hand corner of your screen.
2. Press and hold the Repeat button on your remote control for approximately 5 seconds.
3. Enter the code below. (Note that you must know what Region your player is currently set to in order to know which code is appropriate.)
for Region 1 use 2, 9, 3, 3 and 4
for Region 2 use 3, 8, 7, 6 and 7
for Region 3 use 5, 6, 7, 3 and 2
for Region 4 use 7, 6, 8, 8 and 4
for Region 5 use 5, 3, 8, 1 and 4
for Region 6 use 2, 4, 4, 6 and 2
4. The message "No Disc" will now be replaced with the default region number of your player. For example, Australian and N.Z players will display a small "4".
5. Press "9" for multi-region.
6. Open tray and insert your title.
7. Close tray.

The player will continue to hold the changes you have made. If this does work for you the first time, keep repeating steps 2&3 until the players default region number appears. The amount of time holding the repeat button does seem critical.

"no disc" message

you should be cautious of what you do. every time you put a cd/dvd make sure your disc is clean, no scratches, no damage, no dirt, and no STICKERS sticking at the disc.
well if the problem just occurred inside your cd/dvd player, all you can do is to clean the optical eye with cloth and water and rub it at the eye(don't put to much water, just soak the cloth a little bit and don't put too much pressure against the optical eye)
if does it again adjusting the sensitivity of the optical eye would help, if still, you have to order a new optical eye though or buy a new cd/dvd player.

just be carefull of what you put inside your thing.ok?

have a good day and take care.

No read error

Hi All,

I've had the "can't read disc problem" and "noise" when the
disc is turning. It's not the lens. The rubber pad/ring that the
CD/DVD sits on gets "dirty" and doesn't grab the disc well enough
and the disc slips. It's especially a problem when recording, because
it can ruin the discs, and make then unusable.

I took mine apart and cleaned the rubber ring and that solves the problem.
(for a while anyway) I think the rubber pad has hardened and lost it's grip,
so I have to clean it more and more often now.

1) Unplug it (I take all the cables off)
2) Take the top cover off (5 philips head screws) Don't touch any of the electronics.
3) Remove the blk plastic DVD reader cover CAREFULLY (6 philips head screws)
Don't move any of the parts on the cover or it's really hard to put back together.
4) Gently wipe off the rubber ring with a damp lint free cloth
5) Put the blk cover back on, plug it in, and test it with a disc take make it sure works.
6) Put the metal cover on and you're done.

I used to work as an electrical engineer so I feel comfortable taking this kind of stuff
apart. If you don't, you can buy a new one or have someone else clean it.
