On the PDF - File, print, advanced, check "print as image" & set to 150dpi, ok, ok.
Originally I checked the box & set @ 350dpi. It worked, but every time I waned to print I had to go in and uncheck, then recheck the box - what a hassel! If I didn't it would just print blnk pages. 150 dpi is fine & it works every time without going through the same process all over again.
Choose OCR (Optical Character Recognition) if you mean to edit what you are copying, otherwise it would be like a photograph of what you are scanning and you will not be able to modify it as text. The original document should be very clear and the text dark, if not, then OCR will 'guess' what it thinks it saw and you had better be careful to review the entire document for errors. A good way to proofread a document for spelling is to look at it word by word from its ending toward its beginning. If you don't do it this way, then we tend to read it in context and read it so it makes sense even though there are misspellings. It wouldn't hurt to read it then from the top to the bottom to be sure it makes sense.
I'm not very common to MAC (although my next machine will be an iMAC).
