How do I find the manufacturer's name and contact info? And can DVD based GPS software be updated via the DVD drive or is there another controller that must be flashed with new software?

How do I find the manufacturer's name, model number, etc? Is it on the DVD drive so I must remove it? Can SW be updated via the DVD drive or is there a separate controller that must be flashed with new SW?

Could be the GPS anteanna not geting a signal. This is probably not a garmin, Navigon or Tom Tom brand. I would say its a generic brand made is China as is serviced by the dealer or replaced when it goes bad. You can go to the dealer and ask for brand info but probably its not a company you can just call up. The dealer shold be able to reload the software as It is a Nissan vehicle

call the dealer for update instructions, u said it was a factory unit. come on you have to do a little homework to fix this or at least get an idea what is wrong, how do u know this is not a pattern failure in this car or there is a service bulletin avil for the problem??

the fact that cycling the key on and off should indicate to u that this is a software loading problem, do yourself a favor and contact the dealer for further info on this unit and any poss updates.

How do I instruct the nav system to use freeways

Hey Joseph,
  • You have to go settings and make sure put a check mark on "Avoid Tolls and Ferries". Then the GPS will go only Local.
  • To reset it, Go back and Uncheck whatever you have previously marked checked. Here is a download link for your Manual.
Good Luck!

2006 nissan murano steering wheel audio control buttons working intermittently - work with downwards action but not always upwards

My guess would be the internal contact strips for the buttons are dirty, or are not making correct contact with the opposing piece. You're going to need to take it apart. Be Careful though - you don't want to deploy the airbag by mistake. Disconnect the battery, then wait 1/2 hr for the capacitor to completely discharge. Please check elsewhere for the actual procedure for your vehicle - this is the 'generic' method.

Hi:
Sometimes air gets into the power steering system, and can cause noises.

often, the technician that installed the hose, could ensure all the air is out, by having the car up off the ground, and turning the steering full left and full right, while bleeding the system, as well as making sure that it has 100% fresh fluid too.

Time clock change on dodge ram navigation radio

Press "NAV" to go to the main navigation menu.

Scroll down and select "System Settings"

Scroll down and select "Clock Setting"

Make sure "Show GPS Clock" is selected with a red check in the box.

I had to switch "Daylight Savings" from "ON" to "OFF" in order to bring the time back an hour. I assume that I'll just have to switch it back to "ON" in the Spring in order to move the time forward and hour.
