Question about Frigidaire FEQ1442ES Electric Dryer

1 Answer

I just replaced the thermal limiter in my frigidaire feq1442es electric dryer....still dead. Is there a reset button somewhere, or do I have a bigger problem? The dryer has zero power at all, I've checked the house breaker, etc.

Dryer will not start: when I hit the start button, dryer beeps and lights blink above Control button

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# FEQ1442ES, will not start. I also see that when you press the start button, the lights above the Control button blink and your dryer beeps. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try running any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I need a diagram that will show location of thermal fuse

The fuse is located upper right hand corner of the rear wall next to the high limit thermostat. It is a small black disc about the size of a dime and has 2 white wires going to it. Their are many great pages on dryer repair and I have one on these also.

Manual for leq1442eso

As you have already tried checking limits then the problem is with the thermal fuse in most cases. When the thermal fuse goes bad it cannot be reset and replacing it is the recommended repair. It is located on the blower wheel housing inside the rear panel to the exhaust duct. You can test it for continuity before replacing.

My FEQ1442ES dries but after about five minutes the dryness button flashes 4 times then 30 sec flashes 4 times it does this 4 times before shutting down then the start/ cancel buttons flash 6 times th

Sounds like it is flashing a code but you would need a professional to diagnose it completely. If it shuts off after drying it could be reaching too high of a temp or the thermal limiter is not registering the temp correctly.

Dryer overheats, already checked venting

Does the unit shut off when it overheats? According to the wiring diagram it could be the Heater Relay or High Limit Thermostat. See the wiring diagram for instructions on error codes and how to obtain them. It is easily found on their website. Hope this helps

Frigidaire dryer overheats, already checked venting

check upline from the thermal limiter, to the temperature control.
it's elementary, but double-check the right part number with the folks who sold you the limiter.
after that, it's hard to say- possibly you got a bad limiter.
