CX5400 Replaced all ink after months in storage

CX5400 Replaced all the ink carts after months in storage (the M & Y were not printing) now I get blank prints. Not even a hint of black or color. Tried the clean, align, and new features multiple times without results. Examined hose connections - was fine. Now what? - RFS

Brand new carts. Shook them, yes they have ink in them. Connection port for each cart has ink on them in the printer, which makes me think there is ink coming from the carts.

What if being in storage, with ink carts plugged in, has dried/clogged print head. If clean heads doesn't do the job, is there a way to clean the heads manually. How do I know if they are so gooped-up that they need to be replaced? Can print heads be replaced manually?

By-the-way, Ink levels in all carts is down to 80%. All I have been doing is "Clean Heads". I don't see any leaks/spills/puddles of ink in the printer. The ink must be flowing somewhere. The little clear tube that goes under the carts when you do a cart install has a droplet of ink in it that vibrates like it has pressure behind it while going through the new cart install proceedure, but I don't see any freeflowing ink in the tube. Tubes mostly clean.

It sounds like the ink has dried and is clogging the nozzles. If you are using refilled or aftermarket ink cartridges I would change to new OEM cartridges. Run the deep cleaning at least twice and align. You should start seeing printout. Additional deep cleaning may be required.
You can go back to using refilled or aftermarket inks, but I would be careful. These inks usually do not meet the specifications that the manufacturer recommends.
Let me know if this helps otherwise we can try other solutiions.
Thanks.

Replaced the black ink cartridge but my cx5400 will not print

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

I havent used it in months i shake the inks and they have some inside but when i try to print i get a blank page

It seems that Epsons ink clog up after sitting.
You may need to bring the headd over as you were to change cartridges and remove them.Unplug machine. Now take 5 or 6 drops of ammonia and put them in the ink well hole.Re-install carts and let it sit for 45min to one hour.Plug back in and do a nozzle check. If someyjing comes out but faint repeat process until happy.
If this does not work you may have to get a new head, usually less expensive to invest in a new printer.
Always run a test page weekly on an Epson to prevent this from happening again!!

Brother 350c

First printing a photo takes lots of ink , it depends on the color of the photo , cyan is blue which maybe consumed more in the printing or there changes that the ink may have dried in the cart hence your getting this error ,remove cart take damp paper towel and hold the paper on the place where ink comes out gently for 20 second ,make it does not touch copper contact it may damage the cart ,make sure you check the place where ink with dry paper its usually bottom of the cart and repeat the above step with dry paper towel and try to print if you get the same error then you need to replace the cart or you can contact brother support and get cart replaced , once cart is used you need print once in week to keep cart from drying, you can use any photo paper which is compatible with printer .

Good luck....

New ink cartridge istallation: Brother MFC-240

I guess you d used generic ink carts?!
If yes, the cart holder needs replacement due to ink that has stained the led control. The ink has made a short circuit. The error can only be deleted by replacing the whole cart holder!

First, wouldn't print black, now won't print magenta- all new cartridges!

Unplug machinepowercord. Open printer and take all carts out. Plug in power. Machine demands carts. Put new one in: Replace with original ink carts!. When asked push 1 (yes New cart). If you have used thirdparty carts, there could be a prob due to construticon or ink quality. In case there is no bk after 3x cleaning cycles anymore, the head is clogged: This happens because the filter in front of the nozzels is clogged by pigmented ink. DO USE ONLY DYE INK for all types of brother inkjet machines!!!

Epson stylus cx5400 all in one ink jet printer

This unit has a built in cleaning routine. Also make sure you are using genuine HP OEM carts. You can also blot the cart jets with a damp bounty paper towel. Fold the damp towel to make it thick. Then just press it against the jets a few times to make sure a good flow of ink is blotting the towel. Then put it through a cleaning cycle.
