What does the error say? You may have some bad hardware, either a HDD or memory most likely. If it was memory you'd likely get a blue screen when it hits the bad register, same could happen on a HDD but if it's just faulty, it may appear to work but then give a read error. Depending how new the laptop is, Dell may be able to help you under warranty, I'd check that first. Otherwise, if it's older might be time to replace it, unless youre handy with computers and can try swapping some hardware to pinpoint the failure.

Dell inspiron n5030

Have you tried restoring the computer to the original factory configuration? If you did not have the problem when you first received the laptop, the restoration will fix it. (Page 70 of the Setup Guide -- Factory Image Restore).

If the restoration fixes it, that means that some configuration change caused the problem, most likely an update. If you keep track of future updates you can discover which one triggers the problem when it recurs.

If the restoration does not fix it and the computer did not originally have the problem, that means that a hardware problem has developed.

My dell inspiron 2200 wont start up..Well it starts up but then it sais "Windows start up has failed." and it gives me options to start up in safe mode with command promt and safe mode with networking...

Boot your PC with the windows OS disk and choose to repair your computer when asked. Run the chkdsk program in DOS on the recover mode to correct disk errors.
On completion, restart your computer normally and check it it works.

If it does not work, you may need to format your pc & reinstall windows again.

Windows xp won`t boot up. Get error messages services.exe and Lsass.exe and screen goes black...thank you....

Unfortunately, Lsass.exe is the security policy manager for Windows XP. You only options will be to try and press F8, and choose "Last Known Good Configuration." If that doesn't work, you will need a Windows XP CD. Enter that into the drive and boot to the CD. Go to Repair (not Recover Console). This will rebuild Windows XP, and keep your data intact.

Good luck, and I hope this helps somewhat!

I have a Dell-Inspiron Laptop 1526 I had my hard drive replace by Dell once this year already, when I turn on the computer it starts to work and then stop Running Vista my warranty was up Sept 3 2009 like...

Your trying to downgrade this means you have to use vista cd to format the hard driver, and after the laptop restart, load the Xp. Also sometimes this code comes if you donot use the original xp windows.

Thanks for using Fixy

How can RECOVERY

Best way, remove and connect your Harddisk, to USB external and find the files, delete the files except recovery just look at the files and read all of them in folder. You will understand which one is recovery and your original Dell files. Then make scan and check error while you are there.
Connected to your computer, But Please read first If you are not sure do not do anything, It is your own risk so doing wrong.
It is easy to recover without deleting original files by just deleting last programs that you have installed. So Delete the programs that you do not need. Goodluck

I just bought a dell laptop latitude d600

If you go to Dell.com you can type in your system ID and it should pull up both your "current" configuration as well as the "original" configuration.

Also, right click on "My Computer" and then "manage" and look at the "Device Manager", that should give you an indication of what is on the system.

Good luck and God bless

Reinstalled vista on Dell E521s but lost network connection.

Does in system hardware configuration the network adapter show up with a driver attached to it?
Recover disk/partitions not only includes windows but all further necessary drivers for such PC then windows provides. Graphic adapater, soundcard, networkadapter.
If there is a unrecognized networkk adaptor there type 1394 you should get to know which driver it needs.

This is why I dislike Dell PC's allways. You own one, they own you together with Microsoft
