Question about Monte Carlo Dryers
We bought this fan from our daughter in law who worked for a very nice lighting place in Denver. It never gave us a problem till this past year. The light turned on in the middle of the night, by itself on the fan was on high. I discovered this when we got up the next morning. Rather spooky! I pulled the light chain to turn the light off, even though the wireless remote (which isn't connected to anything in the house except being battery operated) can turn it on and off. I removed the battery from the wireless remote and just now, the fan turned itself on. Last night it would turn itself on and off every few minutes. Is there a signal from something inside the house that's causing this? What can I do to keep it from turning itself on and off by itself?
Needs an electrican to inspect
faulty on /off switch
flat batteries/ faulty remote
rodents in the roof chewed wiring

All good suggestions including the fact that it is remote operated and as such can be operated by any remote within 100 yards of the house
all remotes operate on a narrow band width so it is possible that a neighbour is affecting your fan light by simply changing channels

Well, you can take it down and replace the switch. Most decent hardware stores have generic internal switches. You could unscrew the bulb a little every time you want it off.
You could mount a wall switch for the unit and live with the fan and light always being on at the same time.
The pull-switch is not too difficult to replace, just seems scary. disconnect the unit from all power and do the work at the table.
Keep all fasteners in order of removal, and make notes or label parts with tape as you disassemble. Take a picture of the switch when you get it open and show it to the person at the store. Bring home the new switch and swap it in one wire at a time.

If you go to Monte carlo's website, www.montecarlofans.com, and in the upper right hand side of the screen there is a search bar. If you search for your model number you will realize that they discontinued that model of fan. They won't have a motor for a discontinued fan unless they use the same motor for another model fan (not likely), but I took the liberty to call and find out for sure. The answer is no, they are discontinued. Sorry, but looks like you need a new fan.
