I had the same problem. I had to buy a new card because the one I bought was not compatible. It was to advanced for my camera. It works great now. Make sure you are not trying to use a card that your camera can not read.

It is possible that the card capacity is too great for the camera - does the manual give a maximum storage size ? If not, contact the manufacturer who should be able to help you.

Clearing or formatting a camera card on the computer instead of in the camera results in the problem you describe. You need to format the card in the camera. In some cameras, this is called "format" but in others, it's called "initialize". Look for both in all the menus on your camera.

I am using the Minolta Diamge S414 and when I put the memory card in it says unable to read card. The card is a Sandisk 4GB Extreme. Is this card not compatiable with the camera. Thanks

Try to format the card first. Sometimes, if there is data on the card, the camera will not be able to read it. You should always format memory cards on the camera that they will be used on.

Hello Please someone help me when i put the memory card in my Konica Minolta Its says no card & i cannot take pics as well

A couple things. First make sure the card you are using is the correct one for your camera. Make sure the battery is charged up or are fresh.
Try another card of the type recommended for your camera.
Read the manual before going on, and check the kind of card you need.

If the camera still will not work, then it needs repair, if it is worth it to have it fixed. Also check to see if it may be under warranty of some sort with the manufacturer.

The last resort would be to sell the camera as a repair, fix-it or repair camera on a site such as Ebay.

SD card won't stay in camera

Quick fix... Roll a little piece of paper up or fold into a small square the set it on top of the memory card and tape that down. so that it puts pressure on the card and keeps it seated in the slot. It sounds like the spring inside the camera is broken. which you will need to have sent out to be repaired unless you have a local camera repair person. And that is going to take about a month. Actually more... unless you find a local repair person. Because Sony bought out minolta a couple years ago and shut down all the minolta repair centers and got rid of almost all their parts. I once had a customer who sent in a minolta to get it fixed and it took about 8 months to get it back. Because of parts.
So You will probably want buy a new camera. but there are still a lot of those Minolta's around on clearance and you can get a great price.
Hope that helps,
Caleb

Formatting problems

Try formatting the card on a computer than again on the camera. If you don't have success formatting the card with a computer than it is a pretty sure thing that there may be something wrong with the card.
