Question about Gateway MX6454 Notebook PC
Welcome to the world of the DV9000s....if it isn;t a motherboard issue, it is a power issue. Do not trust either the power cord or the battery or the computer for that matter because I have seen over and over that all three components are not playing well with each other in these systems and the DV6000s. It could be very possible that the battery has bad or damaged cells in it and will probably run fine for a while and then crash suddenly. That is because it is using the good cells and then a bad cell kicks in and....nothing.
Take the battery out and just hook up the charger, if it runs fine for a couple of hours just on the charger then I suspect there is no problem there, chargers tend to overheat, then their voltage reulators will start to fail and then the battery is discharged or over charged and then everything fails.
