You should have two FM terminals at the rear of the receiver.Attach a 75ohm adapter to these two screws and the coax cable to the other end of this adpater

How to connect HDTV antenna to an old Sony Am Fm Radio Tv Receiver, Model Tv-413?

yes there is an coax to ant adapter. Check walmart or Radio Shack if they are still in business.

Tip

Building your own Antennas

To build antennas for any frequency use formula L=234/Freq. Lets say 100 mhz. That would be L=2.34 feet or about 30 inches(close). Ok, Build a dipole antenna with a plastic insulator and 75 ohm Tv Coax. Take stiff alumnium rods or wire. Punch a hole into a plastic piece 4 inches apart. Insert Rods on both sides. Take shiny screws (Not Painted). attach Center Coax to Right side and Shield (ground) to Left side. Silicone these connections and use Black tape to wrap it good. Mount it on your Chimney or on a Tv pole 12-25 feet. Now, the coax coming into your house has to hook to your stereo by a 75 ohm match coil bought cheap at Electronic stores or Tv, radio supply stores. Attach coax by screwing it to coil and the two prongs screw to Back of your Fm Stereo. It will say ANT and GND. on back of Radio. You should pull in Fm stations better than indoor antennas and get farther away stations. It may have a 3 Db gain. Its the same for Cb radio --Just Use L=234/Freq. it comes to 8.5 feet(102 inches) Roughly. Its all Dipole Technology ..No Commercial antenna but will get decent results.

Fm aerial connection ?

Both of my Marantz receivers use a 75 ohm coax input. The receivers included a single wire antenna that simply plugs in. The plug is suitable for coax cable going to an external antenna. You can also get a small 75 to 300 ohm transformer that will allow you to use a dipole or other common indoor FM antenna.

Is the aerial input on a Sherwood Stereo tuner TD130SB 75 or 300 Ohm?

Hello,
You can use some speaker wire. and pull it apart until each leg is 2 1/2' long and then connect it to the balanced antenna input. Or you can run that 2 1/2' (each leg) of wire to the the coax connecting one side to the shield and one side to the center core of a 75 Ohm coax and then run the coax to the FM input on your reciever. The (two) [2 1/2'] legs create a dipole and the coax prevents high SWR and improves recieve. Remember it will work best the higher you get it.

I'm trying to connect my cablevision coax to my Pioneer VSX-1019 reveiver so I can listen to FM radio through the tuner. The antenna connection on the receiver is a female European PAL (also called as...

Is this what you need? http://cgi.ebay.com/4pc-Gold-Plated-Aerial-Female-Aerial-Female-Adapter-/180435080974?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a02c4d70e
although I would be surprised if the signal you have would be correct to supply your fm tuner, you may be better off with something like this (depends on how good your fm signal is locally) http://cgi.ebay.com/FM-AERIAL-KIT-RADIO-RECEIVERS-BALUN-UNIVERSAL-/310283558296?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item483e575d98#ht_2068wt_876
Alternatively, and I know this sounds crude, poke a long piece of wire into the centre of the aerial socket on your tuner and pin it to the wall or a door frame, it often works if you have a decent signal to begin with.

Can i get fm signal from a satellite dish we no longer use? This is still attached to the roof. I would like to use that coaxial cable from the dish and connect to my receiver.

No, you won't get significant signal in the FM spectrum from your satellite LNB coax. The dish is tuned to pick up signals of a very different frequency, and aimed to reject any signals not coming from a very specific direction -- up where the satellites are.

For FM, you need to receive signals from ground-based transmitters, in a different frequency range.

That said, you can totally use the coax to bring signals from your rooftop down to your stereo. To do this, you'd need to get up on the roof, disconnect the coax from your satellite dish and attach it to an FM antenna.

Best of luck!

How do I install decora sureslide single pole dimmer switch??

Ok, first turn off power by finding the break box and switching to off. Then I'm assuming you mean by "socket" you mean the hole in electrical box mounted in or on your wall the dimmer is supposed to mount to. Sounds like your electrician ran the power back to the switch through your neutral/white wire. Your dimmer has a top and bottom, it also could possible have a tiny word imprinted that says "to light" and "+" if not attach the white from your socket to the top black wire on the dimmer, then connect bottom black wire to the socket's black wire...ground wires should connect to each other and to the ground in the wall socket. Use wire nuts to secure, then check to make sure no wires are touching anything except for what they are supposed to me touching...and test it before you permanently attach. Go switch power back on, and try your dimmer...if it works GREAT:) Now go turn off power one more time, tape your wire nuttted connections with electrical tape, mount dimmer and go turn back on the power. Hope this helped! Thanks

Radio/tuner reception

You will need to buy a signal amplifier antenna. One that doe not have to be connected to the Clock/Radio. It will provide the amplified signal and the radio antenna (the a/c line cord and the back of the clock/radio) will be able to pick up the signal from the amplified antenna.[http://www.radiolabs.com/products/antennas/am-antenna.php] this web link will show you one type of these antenna's. Copy the web link and paste it into the address bar in your browser. It will take you to the website. There maybe other types of these antenna's but this one had the best price. Call the store and talk to them before you buy the antenna to make sure it will work in your situation. I hope this information helps you with your antenna problems.
