    It's a 6308 series 8208ELP.

The issue I am getting now is system PCI BIOS is not installed. I am trying to find a way to install that first

  • bobf743 Oct 08, 2009

Are you still there? I need the PCI BIOS or the nvdata input file

  • bobf743 Oct 08, 2009

First Expert seems to be gone.....

  • bobf743 Oct 08, 2009

That's the version I am using. It errors out saying that the PCI BIOS is not installed.

  • bobf743 Oct 08, 2009

No I am 50 miles away

  • bobf743 Oct 08, 2009

Right now I found an article to download lsiutil.exe

  • bobf743 Oct 08, 2009

Nope, could not locate lsiutil.exe, so I am loading drivers and trying to get the BIOS on first.

  • bobf743 Oct 08, 2009

No Floppy. 50 miles away from machine.

Did you try using the DOS version of the megacli? I have the best luck flashing firmwares with DOS. By the way are you trying to upgrade to version 7.0.1-0066_SAS? What was the error message you got? You said you have SAS 8344ELP, right?

Sorry, I went to grab a bite to eat. Anyway, you need to reflash your firmware to get your PCI BIOS back. Please use the DOS flash.bat. The latest version is MPT.07.05151334R. Please let me know if you still have a problem flashing the firmware.

  • Ancestor_22 Oct 08, 2009

Are you using the flash.bat off a floppy disk?

  • Ancestor_22 Oct 08, 2009

Just want to make sure that your board is equipped with the optional boot ROM. The boot ROM is an option. It is not a standard feature.

  • Ancestor_22 Oct 08, 2009

    Any luck with flash.bat?

  • Ancestor_22 Oct 08, 2009

Sorry to ask again, but did you try upgrading the firmware from a DOS floppy?

  • Ancestor_22 Oct 08, 2009

There is mptutil.exe in the firmware package. Could it be the program you were trying to find?

  • Ancestor_22 Oct 08, 2009

Well, I know it is a long drive. But DOS flash is the most reliable way to upgrade the firmware. When Windows and Linux fails to upgrade, the flash.bat usually will work just fine.

  • Ancestor_22 Oct 08, 2009

Have you had a chance to try running the firmware upgrade from the floppy disk yet?

Lenovo Z500 battery

I did not work for me in the beginning because Z500 didn't know it had a battery.

1. First do a clean install of Windows 7.
2. Install all the drivers only for Lenovo site and respect the restarts. Install Lenovo Energy Management last. Go to Lenovo Energy Management and set it for full Performance.
3. The indicator in the animation should be far right not center.
4. Go to Advanced Power Settings in Control Panel -> Lenovo Energy Management and hit ENABLE
5. Now you restart and you should be able to do the firmware update

6. If you cannot do the firmware update then uninstall LEM, remove ACPI from Device Manager, Reinstall LEM, Enable again.
7. If you cannot do the firmware update then try battery gauge reset in Safe Mode and remove ACPI after, and then Reinstall LEM, Enable.

I ahve a beeping sound that is coming from my garage door opener.

If you have an opener with battery backup this may help. BBU stands for 'battery back up.'

This is battery related. On top of your unit is a battery pack with three colored led lights. You can tell what is going on by looking at these. This information is in your manual or here it is.
GREEN LED: All systems are normal. A solid LED light indicates the batteries are fully charged. A flashing LED indicates the batteries are being charged. NOTE: Batteries do not have to be fully charged to operate the motor unit. YELLOW LED: The motor unit has lost power and is operating off of the BBU. A solid LED with beep, sounding approximately every 2 seconds, indicates the motor unit is activating the door and is operating off of the BBU. A flashing LED with beep, sounding every 30 seconds, indicates batteries are low. Once the power is restored the BBU will recharge. This is indicated by a flashing GREEN LED. RED LED: An error has been detected and the BBU will automatically shut off. The BBU will attempt to restart by reconnecting to the batteries. If the error is still present it will shut itself off again. This process will repeat every 5 minutes or until the error has been resolved. This is used to prevent further draining of the batteries. If a red LED remains on when the power is restored, and is accompanied by a beep sounding every 30 seconds, please call for service.

Have had to replace the backup battery in the opener 3 times in the last year. What could be draining the battery?

Here is some general information that you probably already have. The opener should keep that battery charged. I would recommend getting a service technician out. Just when you really need that battery backup it will be out.
