Hi there. I am not aware of any vista software for the hdd065. You could try to use the supporting software in compatability mode. To do this you will have to right click on the setup.exe file and click properties, then click on the compatability tab and select run in compatability mode for XP. Once installed you will have to do the same for the .exe file for the program. I have enclosed a link to my public skydrive which contains a freeware program called HDD manager by litespeed. I use this program myself to transfer music to my hdd065 and it works great in XP. The program files are simply copied to the hard drive of your hdd065 and the program can be run from there by double clicking the hdd manager.exe file. Try running this program in compatability mode for XP. Last resort would be to use a friends computer with XP installed. They would not have to install any programs as the program is launched from your player. Good luck! Link:http://cid-9252ebea9e3d9865.skydrive.liv...

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hdd065 has frozen

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged
Try another USB port
Reset the player

If that fails:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab

If still nothing:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.

I cannot connect my mp3 player to the pc

This model had a proprietary USB cable - it doesn't work with just any USB cable (also, it does not work with Windows Vista, or with Windows Media Player 10). Your computer has to be running Windows XP, and you have to be using Windows Media Player 10. here is an auction for the proprietary USB cable (may end at any time):

The system files on the player have been corrupted or deleted.

Install and run the Philips Device Manager form the product CD.

Connect the player to the mains and the PC.

Select the repair / restore option and follow the on-screen prompts.

This will format the player and restore the system files.

NOTE: The HDD065 is only compatible with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 11.

Try transferring with Windows Media Player instead - see if the GoGear icon appears on the left hand side of the WMP screen (while the GoGear isp lugged in). If it does, then you can transfer and delete songs through Windows Media Player.
