How to set up to my tv

Ok...sorry it took me so long to get back to you...Check the back of you tv and look for RCA jacks for audio and video out...There should be a yellow one for video..a white one for audio left(L) and a red one for audio righ(R) may not need the yellow look for any inputs on the rear panel of the surround sound system...They can be marked (AUX)...they will work..once all of these are will need an RCA patch cable long enough to reach from the tv to the surround sound receiver...once done...turn on the tv and the surround sound. With the remote from the surround sound remote...switch between the input sources..maybe (AUX) until you hear your tv sound come through...then you adjust the sound as needed...Assuming the DVD is built in to the surround sound system...your DVD sound will come back when you play DVD's...All connections and cables are color coded so you should have no problem connecting everything....Good luck....let me know how it goes,,,,I hope this was helpful....PEACE.....

I have a JVC DVD player that doesnt come with surround sound but i have surround sound speakers is there something I can buy so that I am able to use the speakers

If you have surround speakers with a surround system, then connect the Player to the surround system using for example RCA cables (White and Red).

If you have speakers only, connecting many speakers to a non-surround system won't give you surround.
In surround systems the sound is controlled, elaborated and distributed through the speakers by a circuit.

If you wnt surround sound the alternatives are :

  1. Connecting a surround system (eg.Home theater, receiver) to the player (amp+speakers)
  2. Upgrading the DVD to one with surround.
Let me know if you need more help.

Remote Sensor

Start a DVD playing, cover the IR sensor on the DVD player with something opaque. Try changing the volume, the player should keep playing. Your TV, surround sound, and DVD player have conflicting IR codes. The DVD player probably does not use a discreet IC to filter the IR sensor, and the processor in the DVD player is having to look at all the IR codes picked up by the IR sensor. Go to Walmart or KMart and buy a new DVD player for $29.00 or stop changing the volume while watching DVDs :) Sorry, there's no real solution that I know of. Paul.
