2002 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4l Dual A/C Are there 2 orifice tubes in the split unit? Where are they located? Is there a diagram available showing the tubes in the system?

This was very helpful. I am looking for a possible clog in the system. Could you please tell me if there are any screens in the system? How much gas does the system holds? The label under the hood is gone, post accident.

Compressor went bad with 50,000. Missed warranty literally by days. Replaced accumulator also.

When I took the orifice tube out to replace it I saw it was loaded with shavings. Cleaned the system out best I could. I recharged and put oil in but the system was never as cold as it was originally.

I was starting to believe there may be another orifice tube in the back that should have been replaced or perhaps a screen that should have been clean.

I must run the back unit to make the front colder. I am in FL and the wife is always complaining it is not getting cold enough. I am starting to believe some shavings were left in the system.

It is next to impossible to get a/c info online.

I appreciate all the information. I will change the valve and again the tube. I am in West Palm Beach. You in FL also?

I appreciate all your help. I ordered my part today.
If I could I would like to tap your brain about my daughters car. She has a 2000 Focus. We bought the car 3 years ago. Shortly after I bought it developed an intermittent miss in the number 2 cylinder (scanners are great). Replaced the plugs and wires and eventually the coil. That cured it for a while but now I am showing an intermittent miss in the number 3 cylinder.
I don't know if it was a coincidence but after I cleared out the code it surprisingly ran good. Suggestions or theory's please?

There is one orifice tube for the font air. It is located in the a/c line coming from the condenser to the evap. core. the rear a/c has and expansion valve attached to the rear evap. core. Hope this helps.

It should hold 58 oz of r134a. The only screen is the front orifice. What makes you think there is a restriction?

The rear expansion valve can get stuck open or restricted from the debris of the compressor. Try replacing the rear expansion valve. I have seen them cause your concern. Where in Florida do you live?

Yes I live in Cocoa. My father inlaw lived in Jupiter. Good luck with the repair.

Location of Shift Solenoid in 1999 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer?

They are round "cans" with wires attached. You should have SSA, SSB, SSC, Torque converter and Pressure Control solenoids. They control pressures and have no mechanical linkage.

the heater bypass is quite simple, if you look at the firewall you will see two medium sized coolant lines, remove them from the firewall and link them together using a proper sized tube, you can purchase a kit at a parts store quite cheaply
