Thanks for using FixYa.Check the properties of the audio device and see if all options are enabled. Also make sure that you have a latest version of Samson.
If you are using more than one Samson USB microphone or combination with any other manufacturers USB microphones. DO NOT install the Samson Softpre on Windows XP.
Note: Samson SoftPre is not compatible with Windows Vista however the C01U, C03U and Q1U are all Plug-and-Play compatible with Windows Vista.

  • tennie39 Oct 08, 2009

I have windows xp and I can't update using that.

This has been very frustrating for me. I have looked at forum post for sonar le thinking I did something there to change it. my other mic works on sonar le but my samson will not work. My drivers are

up to date. I think someone needs to look in my system and change something simple. I can use my samson for youtube and such but no effects are available.

Its prob not working for the4 simple fact that you don't have the correct driver for your sound card. Please go to drirvers.com and downlaod the free software they have. It will then will give you a list of all your outdated drivres on your comptuer.. Downlaod and use the program to install them. After you have finished that turn off and restart your computer.. Hopefuly this fixes your issue but it should.

I cant find the echo part on the mixer for karaoke

The effects or FX section is on the top right of the mixer. On your vocal channels find the yellow knob marked FX and turn it to 0. Choose the effect you need using the Program knob (top right) for karaoke this will probably be 03 or 06. Start singing and turn up the yellow knob marked 3 - FX under AUX Sends until the LEDs above them hit -0db, no higher.
Now find the button marked FX - Main Mix and make sure it is UP.
Turn up the yellow knob (3 - FX) next to it until you can hear enough echo on your mic.

I wanna have an echo everytime I speak with my microphone when I sing with Mp3 even in youtube. How I could have an echo in my realtek?

Er, are you sure you don't mean reverb, or tape delay? Because echo makes it prone to several kinds of feedback that might not be easy on the ears. In any case, go look for (free, even) software (e.g. via VersionTracker.com ) that has awesome feedback cutout FIR filters in it, and reel-reel delay echo effects to help you out. Good idea, doing it in hardware.

Nothing to be had at FileGuru?

I understand the RealTek shipped with some mic effects stuff, but unless RealTek happen to have released a filter studio kit, you get to either use software development tools to examine what's going on with the demo, invest in a piece of software whose authors threw down for the RealTek filter IP, or write this thing in Python or Perl or C# or D or whatever's handy.

Long delay between singing into mic and hearing voice in speakers

Usually delay is associated with "reverb" not echo. If you are in a large room, the room acoustics can add reverb without the benefit of signal processing.

Reverb NORMALLY passes the inout signal as is and then adds in a delayed version on top.

The delay should be less than the room size delay.

Try turning off all effects as a start. There is some "transport" time if it goes through a digital signal processing.

Very bad echo, on my NEW Acer laptop 8730G-6945

I had this problem for months - I finally figured it out on my own...

Go to your RealTek HD Audio Manager (this is either a red speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner or if you go to 'control panel, sounds speak and audio devices, realtek hd sound effect manager)

once you have the window open, under 'sound effect, go to environment and to the right of the drop down menu, click 'RESET'.

After months of trying to fix this issue, this fixed it for me!!! I hope it does for you too!

How do get rid of echo on sound from speakers?

When you say echo, are you meaning sound coming from your mic echoing thru the speakers or a sound like your in a bathroom on all audio.

If you are referring to the mic issue, then open your volume control and make sure that MIC is muted in playback setttings

If you are refering to bathroom sound on everything , it is called a "environmental setting" and in in your sound cards software setup, like their version of the volume control or some other application they have installed for you to configure your card. Just locate the "environmental" setting and disable it / set it to none.

All sounds on my computer sound like they're in an echo chamber

I had this problem. I right clicked on the speaker icon at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, selected playback devices, left clicked to highlight the 'speakers' (realtek in my case) then clicked properties in the lower right of the open window, clicked on the enhancements tab, and found that my sound effect properties had been changed to auditorium. I clicked the selection arrow and changed the enhancements to 'none'. Oh happy day! No more echo.

The speakers for the computer sound high pitched and echoing

Some audio cards have special functions. Check the control panel for an icon that may relate -- for example, Creative Labs adds an "Audio HQ" icon to the control panel. One of the icons that Audio HQ presents is called "EAX Control Panel". There it is possible to set all sorts of audio effects, including reverb (echo).

Even if you do not have a Creative Labs card, you may still have "EAX" or something similar. Poke around the control panel to see if there is anything that looks like it might have something to do with audio.
