Black ink down one side of page missing and fine lines all over document after we changed overflow toner bottle. I am not getting any messages that there are any problems. The only message we got was toner was full so we changed it. Now we have problems Help please

Clean the document laying flat glass with micro fiber cloth.

Pull out the toner/drum assrmbly and clean the drum with same cloth. Turn the drum using black circular dial on the side and clean it. Do not touch the drum. Also, change the toner cartridge if you have not for long time. This mostly happens when the cartridge is about to run out of toner ink powder.

your ink cartages got the maximum refilling change your cartages but clean the printer before installing cartages

I have a brother MFC 3240C. My Black ink stopped printing(initially printed horizontal faded lines and gradually got worse), the other colors were printing fine. I tried cleaning numerous time( 50 -100 times over 1-2 weeks ). Still no improvement. The way I print now is:
1. I go to Printer Properties
2. Change Media type from "Plain Paper" to "Inkjet Paper".
3. Change Quality to "Photo".

This takes a long time to print 1-2 minutes per page. However, this works for me since this is my Home printer and use it for printing only few pages here are there.

chean the black cartridege with a cleanex and tap it to see if ink will come outm if it does bor then it has dried out and needs replacement.

I was getting a similar blur/blob down one side of the paper (with no discernable print anywhere,) but after removing and emptying the toner collection bottle my printing returned to normal. I am still working on the size mismatch issue, which seems to be prevalent in the 2300DL population.

I ended up taking out the toner bottle completely and just running copies (with no toner in place) until they came out crisp. This used up the toner that was floating around. I was able to make about 700 copies before I needed to put the toner back in. But a **** of paper is still much cheaper than getting a service tech.

Have you tried changing the magenta and black toner cartriages?

This sounds very scary...
Your Machine is very old..
What did you do last to the Copier to get it in this condition?


All you should have done is empty the Waste Toner bottle, and do SP83.

You just might have a faulty black toner cartridge think back did the problem arise when you installed the new black cartridge. Also is the toner a original if not change for a original.
