This happens when the shredder detects an overload or potential jam condition. try making sure the cutters are lubricated with the correct machine oil and it will take paper in correctly. Experiment with feeding in different numbers of sheets to see what it is capable of. Avoid paperclips and stapes as they can damage the cutters and force the cutting blades to become misaligned which in turn puts additional stress on the motor and will mean that you will be able to successfully shred less paper than if the blades were OK and in good condition.

How to eject a stuck vhs tape.

I will show you how to eject a stuck vhs tape. I did this on the sony slv-d300p first, unplug it. Next, take out all the screws on the back. Take off the cover. Locate the loading motor on the right. Turn the gears next to it. After about 5 minutes, the tape should eject. While its open, take a CLEAN piece of paper, hold it up to the drum, and rotate it with the paper against the back. after 5 minutes, take the paper off and stop spinning. the paper may be dirty. put the cover back on, and try to put in a vhs c adapter with NO vhs c in it. when you put it in, it should spit it back out.

-disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it is turned on. -remove the back door and take the paper out from there -do not take the paper out from the front as it may cause damage to the rollers

Paper Jam, can't see any paper and can't take the machine appart!

Yes! You may not be able to take the machine apart. Since you are sure that there is no paper jam, make sure that there is no dust inside the part of the paper. Get a long handle brush and try to reach far into the paper part as you can and brush well. If the back is assessable do the same from the back as well. If your printer is a small DeskJet (they are usually problematic) try this over and over.

Not printing-checked for paper jam, found none. Turned off and back on. Took out paper, put back in. Checked connection. Can't think of anything else. Oh yes, hit reset button.

Does it sound normal or like it's trying to pull paper from the tray when trying to print? If so, for some reason, the paper may not be catching onto the rollers. How about the tray, is it fairly full or empty. Take out the tray and try adding some more paper if low. If already full, try taking some paper out and see if that helps. Otherwise, try taking some out and adding different paper. Could be the paper.

Good luck!

My printer always said ''open back cover and then remove the paper jam'' what's that means? also can't print anything.

open the back cover to remove any paper jam on your printer, follow on it. Maybe there's a paper inside hanging in the ruler, take a look.

For whatever reason the paper tray will not feed into the printer. It keeps telling me that there is either no paper or there is a paper jam. You can hear it trying to catch as it makes a continuous...

If you can take it back. This indicates that there is a mechanical problem with the paper feed hardware. Most often there is a plastic or metal wire that snaps down to the paper tray and pushes the paper into the feed. This isn't happening right and it tries for a set number of times(hence the clicking noise) then the software assumes there is no paper. Hope this helps. You can take out the tray and look up into the back of the tray slot with a flashlight and see if something is blocking it. Hope this helps.

HP Deskjet 3940 (Paper Jam)

I have a HP Deskjet 3940 printer. And similarly to this problem here I had a paper jam that would not clear, despite removing all the paper that was stuck in it, and following all 4 steps stated on the HP website. Such as taking the back cover off and blowing dust away and turning it off and on, etc.

None of these steps worked for me and consequently I couldnt get any new jobs to print - kept saying 'paper jam'. I was about to head down the shop to buy a new printer when i tried one last thing, which HAS fixed the problem!

I put in a large stack of paper onto the feeder. and then pushed it forcefully in and out repeatedly. To my amazement this has solved the paper jam. As a very last resort, might be worth trying this?
