Hi there - I hope someone can help me solve a very annoying problem. I have got a new 40 inch LCD Sony TV and when i play DVD via a scart lead or HDMI connection the faces on the screen sometimes appear to stretch and morph. It is really weird. I thought it might be the motion settings which are used for watching sports etc but the morphing still occurs. Whats even more strange is the same morphing happens when playing a DVD on my 20 inch Sony TV as well. Can anyone tell me what is causing this and can it be solved. I am hoping its just a setting somewhere. many thanks regards Neil
check the settings on the dvd as if you set the dvd to 4:3 format for instance, the picture will be "squashed" to a letter box format and when you play on wide screen it will become "morphed" and mishaped. also if the tv is set to wide all the time, then this will cause a stretching effect. set the tv to auto picture size or "smart" as it is on sony's, with auto 16:9 on.
