Hi, i do have the same model tv set. It has stopped working since two days. The problem is, there is only "TV" menu on the source menu. That mean all the other sources eg: EXT -1, EXT -2, PC, are lost. I hardly tuned the local channels but it does not have sound too. Could i have your best technical support to get my tv work please?

How do I select AV input

Older tv sets tend to have at least one button on the remote to select the AV input but more modern sets the function is automatic - switching to AV when a signal is received via the scart socket, etc.

How do i get vcr to work with tv

The connection would be ideally a SCART cable or a phono AV cable ( red, white, yellow) which are you using? Then turn on TV, then turn on VHS, if the VHS does not show on screen, press the AV/Mode button on remote until VHS on screen!

I have 21 GOODMANS LD2212 TVs and want to play an MP3 player through the "audio in" however it shows no AV signal (yes I have selected AV or SCART source) likewise if I use a scart and connect...

From your description, it seems like the set doesn't activate the AV input unless it sees a video signal. I don't know if it the input is smart enough to require a valid composite signal (that is, one from a source that includes proper synchronizing signals) or if it will work as long as something is there. So here's a suggestion. Get an RCA Y-adapter with one jack in and two plugs out, and split one of the audio outputs from the MP3 player. Feed the audio to the audio input as normal, and connect the other plug to the video input. This may enable the AV input since there will then be some signal at the video input. It won't be a valid video signal, of course, so if it works you'll just see random flashing on the screen. Maybe you can pretend it's a light show to accompany the music.

My ps3 will work on hd tvs with the hd cable but will not work on normal tv with the scart cable

You will need to reset the video settings:

Press and hold the power button until the unit shuts off. After 2 seconds, repeat. You may hear 2 beeps but continue to hold the button until it shuts off. This will reset the video settings and you will be back to AV. You will need to set up your new video settings using the video settings tool.

Hi i have an alba tv , im trying to connect a dvd player. I have connected the scart leads etc.I can not get onto the av channel so i can watch a dvd. Please help

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

Regards,
BElectric

How do i connect the vcr to the tv so it records on the channel i want. i tried recording but was a different channel. i do not have the remote for the vcr

If the TV has a scart socket and the vcr also, you can connect it that way, with a scart lead. Then all you need do is press the channel button on the VCR till it reads AV. There may be more than one AV socket so use the one with the connection of the scart lead, it should say on the scart socket what it is. IE: AV1. All you need do is set the channel on the TV you want to record, the press record.
You won't be able to watch another channel though while recording.
Some TV's with multi scart have options for AV settings or recording from the TV, so check these out.
Consider buying a universal remote.

I have a mikomi ctv14440, and it is meant to be able to switch av so that you can plug in a game console, camera in the back.the problem i am having on both sets that i have just bought for my kids is...

The mikomi ctv14440 I have has a scart socket on the back. Plug in an scart to av phono adaptor which has an input/output switch. Set the switch to input and press AV on the remote control. Now you can use the mikomi ctv14440 as an AV monitor with suitable leads. Press TV on the remote control to return to normal TV.
