Look on the unit tag just inside oven door (on most) and it will tell you kw or take input volts and multiply by total current draw and this will give you watts then divide by 1,000 for kw,your total draw in current will tell you what size breaker you need

Proper Gaggenau EB294 Oven Terminal Block to Cable Harness wiring

If its brand new, most possibly the electrician did not bridge the mains connection.
It sounds like an installation fault.

There is usually a jumper between 1-2-3 on the L connection on the mains, and a jumper between 4-5 on the N connection.

I need more power in my kitchen, what would it involve?

Most probably if you ask here. The main electrical grid should have 3 incoming cables you can use as a power source. So usually you have 3 banks with fuses in there. You need to change part of the kitchen with something you do not use so often.
If there is one outgoing wire for the whole kitchen you need to put a new one in- this is some work.

Hi ive purchased a zanussi gas hob & electric grill and oven my installer wanted to knw what amp and wire to use to connect the oven nothing is stated in the manual model no ZOF35511XK

The necessary data for your installer is on
the rating plate. The rating plate is on the back side on oven and on the bottom side on hob. Never remove
the rating plate from the appliance cavity.
Make sure that the electrical information on
the rating plate agrees with the power
supply. If not, contact an electrician

All electrical connections should be made by
a qualified electrician.
The appliance must be earthed.

What do i have to know about watts in order to work out each appliances power usage aday

Add up all the wattages of the appliances you are using when they come on and go off including lights. fridges. freezers, fans , stoves, tools and every thing. add them all up and you will get thousands of watts called kilo watts . see how many you use per hour and you will get a kilowatt/hr usage rate. Find out the power cost per kilowatt/hr and multiply the usage by the cost and you have your answer. Or you can get a wireless transmitter that is clamped around the input line to your premises and it transmits to a receiver to inside your house (mine sits on the fridge) and it tells you the cost as everything is running . press the mode button and you get progressive cost and other modes are there as well. It is great because if I forget and leave the pool running I can see at a glance that something drawing a lot of power is running so I can check it out and turn it off. Ask you power provider about it or a good electrical shop.

Hi i have purchased a milano 60cm fan forced wall oven. the electrician putting in a new circuit needs to know how many amps 15A or 20A.. Thanks Tony

Sorry but if he is an electrician he should know what to do! The new wall oven will have a sticker on it with the kilowatt rating. The kilowatt rating is used to calculate the current it will draw. This calculation is dependant on your voltage supply. Once this is worked out it will determine circuit size. If your electrician can't work this out you need to find a new electrician.

The electrical consumer unit trips when the dishwasher is on, swicthing all the sockets off in the house. An electrician has told me it could be a number of things, namely a problem with the neutral, some...

You might need to contact a different electrician. Also a different retailer of machines as this one is obviously trying to make a sale. The apparent problem is that the house is wired with all of the outlets in the house on one circuit breaker--a recipe for trouble. Any house with multiple outlets should be divided into zones so that the whole house doesn't shut down if one appliance trips the breaker. A heavy user of power like a dishwasher should have it's own breaker and wiring for that machine alone. The electrician should have load-checked the dishwasher to make sure it is not drawing more than rated power, then suggested that it be wired to it's own breaker and circuit. Any other high power appliances should also have separate circuits (washing machine, microwave, toaster, etc.). Hope this helps!

building codes dictate how an electrician wires your house for appliances. your owners manual does recomend a dedicated circuit for your appliance.

3 prong outlet/4 prong plug

If you bought an electric range , it is a 220 volt range with a BIG plug and can only be used in a 220 volt outlet.
If you can plug a small appliance into that outlet then the outlet is only 110 volts and you need an electrician to run a new 220 line!!!!!!
Was the range you are replacing a gas range??? If so that runs on 110 volts like you TV and toaster and every other small appliance in your house!
If you are not sure what you are doing get a professional to help you!
Every year in the United States thousands of people die buy trying to fix the electrical in their home alone!
BEWARE 220 Volts will shock you! BUT USUALLY will kill you if you touch it!

Kenmore electric range 7909083461 not reaching temp

The technician is right.  The electrician should know that amperage X voltage = wattage.  So if you lower the voltage then you lower the wattage.  The element is like a light bulb, the higher the wattage the brighter or hotter it will be.  208 volts is at the minimum so the element won't be as hot as it should be.  208 volts is just enough to make it work.  Would appreciate a solved rating for expert advice.
