I turn on my computer and i don't see anything

Guess what? I don't see it either.

Oh,....that's because you're there, and I'm here, and.............never mind.

(OH, I'm jus jokin'!)

Would be helpful to know the laptop manufacturer name, and model number, though. The name you know, the model number is on the bottom of the laptop.

Diagnose to see what the problem is;

A) Graphics chipset,
B) Video Cable,
C) In the Display Assembly

1) Suggest start with attaching a VGA monitor to the laptop.

Laptop OFF, monitor OFF, attach the VGA cable of a VGA monitor, to the VGA connector on the laptop.

Example of a VGA Cable, and VGA connector,

You can use a CRT type of monitor, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor if it has a VGA cable.

2) Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type allow it to warm up.
Turn the laptop on. By factory default the display should show on the external VGA monitor.

IF not;
There are at least 3 display options available,

A) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
B) Internal monitor of laptop AND external VGA monitor
C) External VGA monitor ONLY

Hold the Fn key down, and tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.
Which key is the Display Toggle-Over key?
Don't know. You didn't state the laptop manufacturer name, and model number.

It is one of the F keys at the top. F1 through F12.
Usually has a monitor symbol on it, and a side arrow.
(Most of the time the F4, F5, F7, or F8 key)

No display on the external VGA monitor?
Hold the Fn key down again, and tap once more on the Display Toggle-Over key.

Still no? Bad graphics chipset.

Display shows on external VGA monitor? Problem is the Video Cable, or in the Display Assembly.
Post back in a Comment after you have performed this procedure, and also post the manufacturer name, and model number.

If the graphics chipset is good, we'll go on with the diagnoses if you wish.

The keyboard wont let me type

In most cases where I've seen an unresponsive keyboard, it is because there is key that is stuck in the down position. Just one key -- that's all it takes. And you may not be able to see it because the part your fingers touch can actually - in some cases - come back up but underneath, at the business side, it is still down.

Try this: With the laptop off, hold it upside-down and tap each key sharply 5 or 6 times. If you can use the "mouse pad", turn the machine off properly. If not, don't worry about it (just hole the button down and force it off).

Then turn it on and see if it fixes it. If not, I would do it again -- several times at least - even getting a little rougher with it each time. Little pieces of debris can get under a key and actually get positioned just right and cause it "hang". Usually it will come out easily, but not always.

And finally, it could be something else. Please let me know if this does not fix your problem.

And if this has been helpful, I hope you'll take a sec to rate me. Thanks!

How do i reset the password to my 2wire router an connect a wireless laptop

Is your 2Wire Router by AT&T, if so the password is on the side or bottom of the router. Look for Network Key or Network Password on the router.

Once you have that, you simply go to your laptop, and try connecting to your wireless router. It will be the one with the strongest signal if you don't know your SSID. Once you click connect, it will ask you for the password/passphrase or key, type in what you found on the router.

There is really no need to reset the password unless you have some other reason. But there are 2 ways to reset the router's password, you will need to have a computer that is connected to the router with a network cable (most times this is a desktop already connected). Then you will need to know the router's IP Address to type into a internet browser. It will be a set of numbers such as that you would type into the address bar where you normally type www to get to a web page. Once you have the right ip address you will need the router's login id and password. Most times this is set to the default unless whoever set it up changed it. Once you are in the router then you go to the wireless and wireless security area to change the password. If you don't know the ip address or the userid and password for the router, then you can google it on the internet.

If your internet provider is AT&T you might be better off calling them to reset your router's password. They can walk you through it.

Dah-need help

If you have a pc that is plugged into the router or can plug the laptop into the router for a few minutes, you can login to find the key. If it is a verizon router there will be a sticker on the bottom that will say WEP: and that will be the key. I would need MFG/model of router to provide detailed steps.

Blue characters on the keyboard when I type

It is a combination of key known as "Function" (Fn, for short). You have to press it and hold while pressing other keys showing the blue letters on it. The most common use is to make a virtual Numerical Keypad on laptops, so you can perform calculations. To be back to normal mode, you need to press FN+F8 (or the key with the Calculator icon).

Product key for microsoft office 2007

The key on the back of your laptop is for Windows. You should have received a DVD type case with the Microsoft Office Installation disk inside. The keys are on that case. If the laptop didn't come with the installation disk for Microsoft Office, you will have to buy a new one from a store or order a new one online.
