The door latch broke on my GE Spacemaker Microwave Model # JVM1490BD003 and I can purchase the part but I need to know how to get the door apart to install the new latch. I find no screws to take it apart. Can you help me. The repair person I called wants $150 to install an E8.50 part.

Yes, it was what I need. But I will hesitate because of the risk in damaging the door removing the 1804 part. But you have sucessfully answered the question that I asked.
    Thank you.

The door latch is not the part inside the door, but the part in the oven body, near to the control panel.
The part in the oven door is called the door brake, and it is just a plastic part that is held by a spring inside the door.
I will have to mention that taking apart a microwave oven door is a major job, and must be done by an experienced repairer. After the repair the microwave must be tested for radiation leaks. A badly repaired MW door can turn your oven into a danger for you and your family.
As I mentioned opening the door is quite a complicate job, because if you do it wrongly you will damage the door , or the door vinyl seal, and you won't be able to reassemble it.
Microwave door outer frame is sealed, and must be opened using a special tool. Without the tool, the job can be done using a putty knife or a similar tool. As explained , there are chances to damage the door.
Here how to open the outer frame.
The outer frame is part 1804 on diagram.
Once the outer frame is out, you will find the screws holding the inner frame. Removing the inner frame it is easier. After removing screws the inner frame will come out , and the lock brake can be replaced.
Please do not forget to leave feedback.

Inner Bootom Door Hinge Broke off...since then it will not turn on...Will that prevent microwave from functioning?

You probably mean the door LATCH broke off. Yes, that will prevent your oven from operating. The door latches operate switches inside to indicate that the door is closed. If the control board doesn't see the right switch settings, it thinks the door is open and won't allow cooking. Replacement latches are available, but you should check with a professional shop to do the repair. If door repairs aren't done correctly, there is a chance of microwave leakage and an unsafe oven.

How to replace rack holder for ge profile spacemaker microwave JVM1490BD003

You can find helpful exploded views and order parts by entering your model number here

If the holder cannot be twisted & pulled from inside the cooking cavity, it may have a lock inside the oven.

If that's the case, it will require you to remove the oven from the wall and remove the outer cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

First check you owners manual for installation instructions if any. There may still be shipping materials in the unit that have not been removed. If you do not see any shipping materials then by all means call the service number. Your door latch may have been broken in the shipment orocess. It would be a valid warranty repair.

Cannot remove face on Micro/Covec Oven to replace broken handle

You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.
