Printer no power

Printer doesnt power on....no light

No power on my printer! First thing to happen was it stopped printing jobs because it was out of ink. I ordered some replacement cartridges and I disconnected it so I could print to my secondary printer. Then when I switched them back, the MFC just did nothing. I tried plugging it into a different outlet, and nothing. Replaced the ink carts, and still nothing. Any idea how to test the power supply, or replace it?

    Hello,

I hate to sound like a nut case but.....we moved the machine from one site to another (we changed offices) we decided to keep the machine where it was so I plugged everything back in JUST LIKE IT WAS BEFORE...there is powere reaching the power cord but the juice is not reaching the actual machine. I am wondering if there is another power button besides the one on the top...perhaps it got pressed during the move. I have been here for 2 years and never had a problem..the machine was here before I got here and there is not a manual so that I can look at.

    HELP!!!!!

We are setting up our printer, and during this process, had power but the machine powers off the setup. We are still setting up the language and country! Surely the power supply can't be faulty out of the box!

Hi,Same problem. Printer does not power up at all. I took the psu unit to a local electric shop and it tested fine, supplied correct output.

So I tried it again when I arrived home, but stil nothin. I then realized it made a very sharp soft ping sound when i plug it into power unit and it keeps tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-ing softly until i plug it out of power unit.

Plz, those of you with the same prob, listen closely if your's makes the same sound.

Any ideas why it makes the sound?

Some problem here. Perfectly fine one day, totally powerless the next. I'm even getting the same faint, high-pitched whine that Crisaturno is getting. I've checked the cable, and it is good. With the noise, obviously power is getting to the printer, but nothing is happening.

[Note: This model of printer does not have a mechanical "on/off" toggle switch to turn into the "on" position. It has an electronic "on" button that does nothing at this point.]

Everything was connected and all of a sudden, the printer just died. Power went off. I checked all the conenction again, everything was connected the weay it was.I tried to reboot by switching the main power outlet off and on again but till today it still 'dead'..whats up with that?. Does this mean that I have to buy a new printer?...I just got this one not too long ago and hardly uses them...

anyone have an answer will be greatly appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem with my MP 750. During printing it just stopped and now it doesn't power up anymore.

I discovered that the ticking noise is caused by the switch at the button that opens the cover, where the paper exists.

    Any help is highly appriciated!

I was encountering the faint, high pitched whine that Crisaturno and theaney were getting. My printer (X6170) wouldn't power on, but after leaving it plugged in for about 5 minutes the whining stopped. My printer then powered on. I think the high pitched whine is a capacitor charging (My printer had been unplugged for a week or two). Try leaving it plugged in for a good while and see if the whine stops, if it does, hopefully your printer will start up.

After a power outage, I experienced the same problem. I plugged into another outlet & still no power. Eventually, I got the printer to power up. I think when you press the power on/off switch - you need to depress the switch for 5 seconds & then let up on it. Try this at least twice to make sure you cycle thru at least 1 on/off cycle. I also thought the power supply went out - but not so.

Is the printer connected? and switched on? (sorry for saying this but sometimes silly mistakes happen). Also is the switch on the printer turned ON? (maybe just the mains is ON). If it still does not work, u need to get your printer power assembly replaced.

Error 5100

Hello! Try this:
1. Unplug the power cord

2. While pressing the ON button, plug the power cord back in.
The power light should flash an orange/yellow color.
Continue pressing the ON button, and press the RESUME button 4 times. The light changes every time you press it.

3. Release both buttons, and restart the printer.

The printer should now stop blinking and operate as usual.
I hope this works for you. OMS
