I assume you are refering to the beater bar. Hair and debris get under that caps, most arethreaded on. hold both endcaps and then counter rotate. if not threaded, then try to pull apart, be carefull not to break it. if it does not come off too easily then ask a vac shop to help you clean it.

My Dirt Devil KONE Hand Vacuum won't unscrew to empty

sounds like it may be cross threaded , or bits of grit holding it tight ,try tapping round the rim with screwdriver handle to see if it will loosen anything that's holding it ,then get someone else to help you hold one end and you hold the other end and twist..

How do I take the agitator end caps off?

Alliemay657:

It sometimes takes a 2 grunt pull to remove the end caps and bearings from the agitator (called the beater bar). I have had to use a flat blade screwdriver to CAREFULLY pry the end caps and bearings from a beater bar. Be careful not to stab your hand with the screwdriver (It HURTS!!!) Once you get the end caps and bearings off, clean the hair and carpet fibers from the ends of the beater bar and bearings and end caps. If the bearings don't turn easily, dribble some rubbing alcohol on them (I use a spray bottle filled with alcohol) and spin them until they spin freely. Dry the bearings until there is no alcohol in them. Put a drop or two of light machine oil in each bearing (3 in 1 oil will do), and spin the bearings to distribute the oil and ensure they spin freely. Now would be a good time to check the vacuum head and hose for clogs. Push the bearings and end caps back on the beater bar and reinstall the beater bar (with a new belt). Reinstall the foot plate, and your machine should run like new

Dirt devil jaguar pet vacuum - no power goes to vacuum

I've literally disassembled the ENTIRE vacuum. I got it for a dollar at the local goodwill with the intent on converting it into a dust collector for my mini workshop. As others have said. The suction is abysmal. I don't think it could beat a dust vac. And that's with just the motor hooked to dirt collector. No brush, no belt, no carpet adjusting. Just a motor, dirt collector and hose. Zero suction. Removed the hose, zero suction. Remove the dirt collector, solid suction. Dunno if the dirt collector is missing a part, but I doubt that based on other replies. I'm guessing all the holes in the red tube of top chamber are the issue. But I can't easily access it. I think I may end up cutting it open to try plugging some holes or some other modifications. But this vac is garbage in its original configuration
