Most wireless mice run on batteries (inside the mouse itself). The other unit plugs into a usb port on the computer and gets its power from that. You might try again indicating the brand and model of the mouse.

My logitech wireless mouse stopped working. I

Turn the mouse over. There is a battery cover that needs to slide to open. Your mouse should take 1 AA alkaline battery. Also there is a recesssed button on the underside that you you can press (with a pen tip or paper clip to reset the mouse). Either the new battery or the reset should solve your problem.
Please rate this solution. Thanks.

Mouse doesnt work

Windows has trouble recognizing some devices. It gets it and then checks later and doesn't get it and this repeats over and over. Unplug and replug and it works, and then it starts all over again.

I have had to simply abandon using certain mice and keyboards.

Bought a MS wireless laser 7000, but cannot get it to work.

Hello

Basically, first thing you need to do is to connect the receiver and or charger to the computer, in some cases you might have a external power adapter that you have to plug in.

After that, turn on the mouse, if noting happens, place it on the charger and let it charge for a while.

you should have a green light on the mouse when it is charged.

Remove the mouse from the charger and see if it works, if the mouses light is green and it seems to be working, but your cursor is not moving, then find a connect or similar button from the charger / receiver, press that, and then press a similar button on the mouse, in most cases its in the bottom. Those two need to be pressed within a certain amount of time, to be quick about it.

Also make sure you are using a USB port, don't use a USB adapter to connect the cable to the old styled mouse port.

if your mouse still doesn't work, try a few different usb ports and restart the computer a few times. it should work.

Replaced Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 doesn't work

I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.

Generally, wireless devices have a connect button that finds the frequencies of the devices. On the receiver press this button, then press the button on the bottom of your new mouse. the receivers lights will stop flashing once connected.

Mouse not responding

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch. Hope this helps you. Bud
