If the answer was that simple I would have done it;-) There are no drivers that I can find online. There are many comments from other users with similar incompatibilty concersn i.e. going from XP to Vista.

I have just tried downloading from RapidShare only to find that I have paid out to download the same problem - that version doesn't work with Vista! I have also tried logging on to Micrografx, but that doesn't exist - it's now igrafx.com, and Picture Publisher is not even mentioned, so I can't fill in their question form! where else can I get the drivers?

You need to download the latest driver and reinstall it. If there is a specific one for Vista then be sure to use it.

One thing you can try is running the app in XP Emulation or try 2000 Emulation.

You could also try downloading and installing Picture Publisher (Developed by Micrografx) from the following link

    http://rapidshare.com/files/212972316/PI...

Select the free user option and wait 60 seconds and then download.

The considered opinion is that this is not possible. Therefore, the only way forward is to use a different and up to date application such as Photo Commander or Photo Optimizer from www.ashampoo.com or find a used copy of PhotoShop from eBay which will give you many more options.

I could not upgrade neither windows XP, Windows 7 of this Product Model: GT5662. Would you assits? Thanks.

Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). I hope this has solved your specific problem kelvinvu, have a great day!

Just installed Micrografx Picture Publisher 10 from the original disc. When I try to run it, I get the following error Micrografx Picture Publisher Digital Camera Edition has stopped working It says...

I had the same message trying vista. Windows 7 offers running older programs in XP or even Win 98 SE mode. That fixed the problem for me. Further I recommend running it as administrator. Hope it helps.

I used Photo Expl 2 on my previous (XP) computer, but recently upgraded on a new computer to Windows 7 Home Premium. Had a problem with Photo Expl 2 on Windows 7 Home Premium, and I see by posts that...

Here's one from left field,

Download this photo app. It on all new customer's software builds.

After that, yes, there is an XP Mode available for free download to users of W7 Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise and would run your previous more "friendly" version.

I cannot install java on windows vista home premium why???

There are several problems with Vista. You might have to find a previous version of Java that will work for Vista. Two solutions: 1.) find previous version of Java on Filehippo.com; or 2.) Upgrade to Windows 7 (recommended). Windows Vista is the predecessor to 7. 7 is far more stable and will find almost everything you need on its own.

Micrografx Picture Publisher 8 not working with my Vista

I solved it!
The software installs OK.
After installation, reboot.
When you need to open the program, right-click on the Micrografx icon and select Run as Administrator. A yellow window pops up saying "An unidentified program want access to your computer," with pp80.exe as "Unidentified program" - that is actually Micrografx Pictures. Click "Allow." The program runs normally. The only caviat is that you will have to perform this routine every time you have to run Micrografx Pictures. But again, it takes 5 seconds to do it, and I love the program, having used it for over 10 years. Photoshop is far more advanced but it takes time to master it, and I do with Micrografx the same quality work as many with Photoshop.
Of course, Janet, you and I have to come to grips with the fact that Micrografx is pretty much dead, and Photoshop is alive and blooming. Maybe this Vista incident is a sign for us to learn Photoshop?

Can't use VPC-CG9 as PC camera.

I don't know why this wouldn't work on Vista HP, but this excerpt from the manual suggests that your XP SP1 Pro would not work without the SP2 rollup:

"Please perform the following upgrades before connecting the camera to a computer.
-Upgrade Windows XP to SP2.
Install Windows XP SP2.
-Install Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version.
Download Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version, and install it.
-If using MSN Messenger, please install MSN Messenger 7.0 or later
version."

Perhaps if you are following the steps exactly in the manual and it still does not work, upgrading Messenger will magically help.

Upgrading the OS Windows XP not possible

Upgrading from OS Windows XP:

you can upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista(ultimate, premium, home, business.......),
you have to buy a Windows Vista CD and install a fresh copy or format.

Some Minimum Requirements:

i) Min 2GB RAM or atleast 1GB RAM(if you have>1GB RAM installation of Windows Vista will not continue)

II) External Graphic Card. for some versions of Windows Vista(to run Aero Interface, special feature only   in some versions of Windows Vista)

NOTE:

"Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor" is a software from Microsoft which you can download from internet, this  can help you determine which features and edition of Windows Vista will run on your computer.

i.e., when u load this software on windows xp it will suggest which upgrade version of windows vista          will suit your system(based on you system configuration. or hardware components.) and then            you can install the upgraded version of windows xp(mostly windows vista home,.........)

Thanking You
