I would go to and you can download a breakdown and also user manual for this tool with information about the set up and belt assembly, the breakdown would show you how everything is supposed to go in the pulley section. L et me know if you need further help

Pin comes out on the fly on motor pulley... Collar rides up and pulley run off kilter.

I assume this is a solid pin that isn't tight enough. Replace it with a rollpin. Google images if you are not sure what that is. Most hardware stores carry them. If you already have a rollpin, you might have to drill to the next size.

DP 350

A special kind of pliers are made for this that have tips that fit into the little holes near the gap in the spring clip. Harbor Freight sells one for like $10 or less. They have interchangeable tips that work for internal or external springs.
Good luck.

Need a product number for a Dayton model 3Z235 drill press variable speed belt. Can you help?

Gates 5M1150 Polyflex V-Belt 89021150

This is for a drill press with stepped pulleys. I wouldn't call it a variable speed belt, but it is the belt that I am getting for my Dayton 3Z235 drill press.

The variable pulley over the motor has come apart. how do I put it back together?

There is supposed to be a snap-ring with covering a cap with a spring that compresses the pulley and holds it together. Maybe one of those pieces has broken or is worn out. Most online repair parts places have an exploded diagram of all the parts and where they go so you can identify a replacement.

How do you ajust the high and low speed on the drill press

not sure if you have a dial on that press to adjust the speed. if it is a dial on the machine make sure you adjust it while it is running.... but it looks like it is belt driven and there will be a series of pullies under the top cover for adjusting the speed.

Drill press

Release the belts and check if you can turn the chuck by habd, if the chuck won;t turn, two things could be wrong, 1) the quill bearings are bad or 2) the shaft that runs down thru the quill could ve rusted causing a restriction, if that's the case, WD 40 should loosen it.

How fix Delta/Rockwell 15 drill press from chuck wobbling. I purchased a Delta / Rockwell 15 drill press model 15-091. The chuck wobbles. I ordered some wedges to remove chuck.jacobs #6 wedges After soaking in pb blaster I removed chuck with ease with the wedges. must have Now after looking at what is called the spindle I is wobbling. I wonder if I am looking at an arbor or the spindle? Above this piece is a threaded section that is about 1/2. I thought of maybe getting a jacobs 34-33c chuck to screw onto this. Seems like if the spindle/arbor is wobbling it still would not run straight or be difficult to properly seat it. I do know that some quills come with a slot to fit a wedge for removing the arbor. Mine does not have this. Without a proper way to remove an arbor it leads me to believe maybe it doesn't have an arbor. Seems that I am looking at the actual spindle. I need this drill press for precision work. If you know about this model.. Please Help !!!!! I am stuck. Do I need to buy a whole spindle? If it is in fact an arbor how are you supposed to remove it? I thought if it is an arbor I could take a grinder and cut 2 slots in the arbor. Then take a really thick washer and cut out a section. to make it a u shape then slide the washer into the grooves I cut out. Then use the wedges on top of that. After tapping the wedges I would think it would come free. Unless it is one solid rod with a taper at the end like an arbor usually has AKA the spindle....HELP!!!! I can't find ANY info on this anywhere. I know someone must have worked on these before.
