Removing & Cleaning the Absorbent pads.

The printer has 2 ink absorber pads that are located under the ink cartridges that collect the waste ink.

1. With power off the head assembly / cartridges can be moved into the middle for access.
2. Each of the 2 ink absorber pads are seated in a rubber retainer. The pads can be easily removed cleaned or replaced.
3. Carefully remove the pads using long nose pliers or tweezers.
4. Clean the using with running warm water, or use an isopropyl alcohol bath, or an isopropyl alcohol based aerosol if they are really dirty. DO NOT USE ANY SURGICAL SPIRIT OR ANY OIL BASED CLEANERS. At a push you can use a warm water mild washing up liquid bath but be sure to thoroughly rinse out the solution after cleaning. The pads should be white when they are clean.
5. Dry the pads – it may take some time and placing them in a warm environment or near a warm radiator will speed this up.
6. Clean away any ink on the retaining rubbers using a cotton bud or clean and soft lint free cloth.
7. Replace the DRY pads in the rubber retainers.
8. Replace the Ink cartridges.
9. Power on the printer and print a test page and clean and realign the heads as required.
10. If the E27 error message reappears then you will need to reset this.

Waste ink absorber full or platen waste ink absorber full

Ink absorber is almost full problem is for cannon 1800

Hope you find this information helpful. The printer has a built-in ink absorber to hold the ink used during Print Head Cleaning, for example. Eight flashes indicates that the ink absorber is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the ink absorber becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative. (You will need to replace a particular part of the printer.) Canon recommends that you call for service as soon as this error occurs. Once the ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be performed until the ink absorber is replaced

What does "the waste ink absorber is almost full.

IT means that the pad in the printer that absorbs excess ink is full. This costs a lot of money to replace, probably more than you paid for the printer. Just resume printing.

How to take apart Cannon PIXMA iP3000 to clean the waste absorber

You need to replace the ink absorber kit and to completely disassemble the printer to replace the absorber. Attempting to clean the ink absorber is not recommended. Self servicing the absorber can be a very messy operation. I would check with a Canon repair center to see what the cost to have the servicing done by a trained technician. In some cases, it is cheaper to replace the printer.

Cannon printer is just blinking says the ink sponge is full

It means it needs to go to a shop to replace the ink absorber and reset the count. The ink absorber is under the printer and covers the whole bottom of the machine. If it is not changed in time it can overflow on your table and also ruin parts inside the printer.

Waste Ink near full shows on screen. Won't print!

Hi ...

Cannon Pixma MP780 have an absorber and this error is related to this absorber.

This printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming clogged. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible. Press the <Stop/Reset> button to cancel the error. You will still be able to print for a short period. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.
Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset.

I would suggest that you take your printer to the nearest cannon service centre and get it repaired.

Don't forget to vote if this helps ... Cheers :)

My Cannon IP 1600 waste ink absorber is full. can you help me?

If when the head is moved to the position for changing carts, I think on the right you may find trays under where the head is parked, normally. Sponge out with cotton buds some of the ink and run a resetter for this machine (Google resetter for Canon ip1600) hope you find it

My cannon iP 2000 keeps that waste ink well is full how do I repair this

No repair is available. There is a little tray under where the cartridges rest and when the printer does a cleaning cycle, it squirts some ink into it. Eventually, the ink builds up and when the tray is full, it's time to change printers. Here is what Canon says:

Ink Absorber Replacement Options This printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. At this point, printing is still possible by pressing the <Resume> button on the printer. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.
Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk.
