Question about Samsung LN-S4095D 40 in. LCD HDTV
Writing on behalf of a friend. He's got a samsung 40" lcd ln-s4095d and
a ps3 connected via hdmi. He's been using mostly for gaming up til a
few weeks ago when
we were at the mall and he bought two blu-ray for him and his wife to
watch... Well to make a long story short from here the movies didn't
play but the games continued to work fine. Since then I've been over
to test things; I've tried a new hdmi cable, another port, settings on
both tv and ps3 (resolution, audio, video) but still nothing.
It will show the searching signal just after inserting disk but then "no signal"...
Which I'm now guessing is something to do with hdmi, hdcp or something else with the tv since it works fine on composite and secondly his ps3 works on my tv with his own cables. I'm guessing his tv is not compliant with hdcp or maybee lower hdmi spec port and signals are maybee out of sync. Can anybody confirm or deny this as I have not found the specs for the tv online?
I had the exactr same problem with P#3 and the same model of TV, I turned of the 24 hz setting as you suggested and it si workign great! The only thing I am wondering is what ewxactly the 24 Hz setting is. The actual title is "BD 108P 24 HZ output. I didn't turn off 1080P did I? Don't think so as picture looks great. Even though I didn't ask the original question I REALLY appreciate the answer!

Turn the 24Hz setting to off under BD/DVD settings.

The only thing I can ghink of is with my blu ray, I have the same TV and if i change the picture settings to 1080P 24 hz, it does not show a picture. I have to keep it set with 24 hz off.

You may want to try a good, Monster Cable, HDMI cable. Visit this page: http://www.monstercable.com/HDMI/advancedhdmi.asp
If you have a standard HDMI cable, it will not support 1080P.
So this is one of the few times that I will recommend spending the money for a better cable.
The better cable improves picture color quality, from 8 bit to 12 bit and it improves audio quality.
