Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I have a Crosley Extra Large Capacity Heavy Duty Dryer (Model #BYCD4932W0)that is not heating. I'm guessing the heating element is out in it. I can not find a manual for this dryer. I know I can repair it myself, just can not find manual. Can someone help me?

I have model REX3514PQ0 that I purchased from Lowe's in 2005. It is a Heavy Duty, Extra Large Capacity, 3 Cycle dryer. The dryer will turn on and will blow but only cold air. A friend suggested I check...

There are three switches :: high heat thermostat, low heat thermostat, and thermal limit switch.

Could the the thermal limit switch is opened because the dryer overheated -- these cannot be reset -- need replacing.

Could also be a faulty heating element. To test these components you'll need an ohmmeter (multi-meter) and will need to remove the back of the dryer.

More info, let me know.

We took our heating element out of our dryer and didn't mark the wires. Is there somewhere I can download a map of where the wires go? It's a Crosley heavy duty giant capacity.

How many wires do you have? If only two, the heater element doesn't care which wire is attached since it is being fed with AC current there is no polarity to it.

I have a Kenmore Heavy Duty, super capacity, quiet

It sounds like your heating element has broken. There are several links provided on this site on how to replace it. You might want to take a look at davesrepair.com to purchase a new one. He has pretty good prices on the element.

Whirlpool model number LGV7646ANO gas dyer will not heat up

Can you hear a click like always? If not then it has to be either the fuse, ignitor,or sensor. If you hear it clicking then the operator coils are dead. HERE is a link that shows pictures of these parts and locations.
