We do not have the remote. Lost it. It is hooked up to Direct TV Satilite. Is that the issue or is the Amp the issue? Is there a way to turn off the Auto Detect?

    Thanks

Could Direct TV or Satilite be the problem? Why does the Auto Detect keep flashing and it jump back and forth to VCR2 & VCR3 when non of the VCR buttons are being used?

Hi,

This can be a system malfunction, make sure that there was no stuck buttons on both tv and remote, try to remove and replace the remote battery.

Hope this helps

I need a remote for a Yamaha DSP A3090, Yamaha part VT974300. I'm OK with a universal remote as long as it can access and navigate the on-TV menu.

Be careful - most universal remotes only control the most basic of functions, volume change, channel change, mute, on/off. They rarely include operation of sources, menus, etc.

U are , no doubt, going to need an original unit for the menu access.
Check for remote on ebay or google.

Where do you hook up outside speakers

'Outside' is not a choice on the unit.

If you want to drive a separate amplifier with speakers somewhere you could replace the Main Channel Pre-Out jumpers with an RCA-Y-adapter and slave the second amp and speakers to this unit's volume controls; or you could attach a second amplifier to either TAPE REC OUT pair and the external amp and speakers would have independent control of volume locally.

When watching cable tv we are not getting any sound from the speakers. We do get sound from all the speakers when watching a dvd or listen to the stereo. I have a Yamaha HTR 5660 receiver. All the cables...

Your best bet is to hook all your video components directly to TV, using your TV's menu to choose what you want to watch, and then hooking reciever to TV via digital optical out from TV to digital optical in on reciever. From what I read, your reciever has 6 digital optical inputs. Anyway, try running, at least, your cable box to TV, best by HDMI, the run digital optical out to reciever. Make sure you go throught he recievers menu to make sure you have he right channel selected for audio.
