SOURCE: Paper Jam
Causes of repeated paper jams
If paper jams occur repeatedly, one of the following may be causing them:
The paper is being pushed in too far. The paper should only be pushed in until the first resistance. Continuing to push the paper in will force the paper up into the paper rollers and will cause the printer to pull in multiple pages.
Obstructions in the paper path. Open the all-in-one (front and back) and check for obstructions.

Same with mine and when I try to look for more jammed paper, there is none. I have wasted an hour messing with it and I tried to call HP and they want $65 to talk to me because my warranty is out of date. Someone, please help us!

If the print out appears to have random black rectangles - the cause is the print head jamming due to a lack of lubrication.
Yes - I know there is a label that says - DO NOT OIL - THIS UNIT PERMANENTLY LUBRICATED - OILING VOIDS WARRANTY - ignore it, or if your printer is under warranty, get it serviced under warranty.
1) Unload the paper.
2) Switch the printer off, open the lid & remove the ribbon.
3) Remove the two screws that hold the front cover and remove it - the control panel cables are long enough to allow it to be moved to the right and rested.
4) Find the two carriage guide rails - usually shiny rods that run from left to right - and support the print head carriage.
5) Wipe the dirt and old lubricant off of the guide rails and add a few drops of light oil - gun oil, sewing machine oil or similar - slide the print head carriage left/right a few times to spread the oil, wipe clean and re-oil
6) Reassemble the printer.

give this a try
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
